Hotels in Harbin Central Avenue/Saint Sophia Cathedral/The Memorial Tower of Fig, Harbin

I had an overnight layover in Harbin, so this hotel’s location was perfect for getting a taste of the city a little bit before going back to the airport. Very simple, no-fuss, clean hotel. Friendly and efficient staff. Great value for money.

Super comfortable, some rooms have bathtubs, and are equipped with disposable bathtub bags. The rooms are super big, very clean and comfortable, and the location of the hotel is super convenient. It is very close to the subway entrance, Central Avenue and Hagia Sophia. The TV projection in the room is very convenient and the TV is very big! Highly recommended! I stayed for four days and didn't want to change!

The room appears much smaller than on the website but is adequate for solo travelling. Although water bottles was replaced daily, dirty tea cups were never removed or washed during my 4 day stay and I had to rinse them in the bathroom. The trash can was emptied every day but they do not make your bed. The shower head was broken and difficult to handle and the mattress topper was too big for the bed and kept slipping off. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was difficult in the sense that the hotel is situated in a very busy main road, with one way direction and few in between passes, meaning taxis must first drive quite far past the hotel before making a u-turn to turn back to drop you. The downside of using Didi's or taxi's are the rude and impatient drivers. They charged extra high fares during Christmas. We were often gridlocked in traffic, ending up walking back 2-4km to the hotel. Overall I was disappointed in the city itself. Many buildings were rundown and neglected with broken windos and peeled paint, that reminded me of a third world country. Streets were very dirty and a nearby school did not make traffic congestion any easier when commuting forth and back to the hotel. Rumours that Christmas is not so busy and a better time to be visiting Harbin, is not true. The crowds spoiled the experience at Saint Sophia Church, especially the influencers who dressed up in ridiculous outfits posing in freezing temperatures at the church staircases and corners, spoiling any photography opportunities. Stalls and shops around the Church were very expensive. I visited a few other churches like St Aleksyev and Jile Temple which was far worth the effort. The highlight of my trip was Volga Manor, Baroque Street and the Songhua Railroad Bridge. Sun Island snow sculptures were very enjoyable, easy to navigate and not congested with people. Plenty of space to walk through the park, play in the snow and take the cable car over the river. The ques are not long from the Sun Island side, but crossing over to Harbin's side, the ques were very long to get a cable car. Danny's Beer in the Baroques Street area is a must visit and offered welcoming, warm and delicious food and hospitality. It's a 4,7km hike from the Songhua River bridge and offered good food at very reasonable prices. I did not visit the Ice sculpture park or light shows because of the three hour waiting cues, too many people and slippery conditions. The Tiger park was a so-so experience and mostly annoying due to people teasing the tigers with meat strips they cannot reach; all for the sake of a photo opportunity. If you are an animal lover, rather skip the tiger Park. Lastly, a big plus was the public toilets near the Songhua River that were impressively clean.

Honestly to say, this is the best and most worthy hotel I stayed in Harbin, best price, best location, best service, room are big, just next to Sofia church, and all big shopping mall and 中央步行街 walking distance, very convenient, although this is old hotel, they still keep it nice and clean, and I have good sleep last night. Trust me stay here you won't regret.

The location is very good, very close to everywhere, the space is quite large, and the price-performance ratio is high. The front desk on the first floor will always say hello when you go out and come back. The aunt who cleaned during the Mid-Autumn Festival even gave us two cakes, which was super considerate~ There was a little A small suggestion, takeaways are not allowed to be delivered upstairs. It is recommended to arrange robot delivery.

This is the most friendly and most helpful Hostel in China for my own experience, really warm hearted beautiful people, owner lady is making sure everyone is safe and happy and reasonably priced, they have nice restaurant downstairs and very central location as well I highly recommend this place

The location and hotel neighbourhood was nice. It is a walking distance to St. Sophia Church. Room was clean and housekeeping was doing so well. The staff was not english spoken, but they are helpfull. We choose a room without window and it is a bit dark. If i am travelling again, i will choose the room with window. There are XueXiang Tour & Travel Office near the lobby. In case you need to find a tour to xue xiang.

Very convenient place, it’s in zhongyang street, not noisy. The room is clean and tidy and comfortable to stay

The room is clean and hygienic, and all the hotel facilities are available. The soundproofing is very good and the room is very quiet. The front desk staff is also very warm and polite. A fruit plate was also given on the day of check-in! The hotel is in a good location and convenient for transportation. It is very close to Harbin Railway Station and can be reached in about 10 minutes on foot.

Excellent location, the management is really kind and helpful, the rooms are clean and heating system keeps the room very warm specially now in winter, the view is very nice and the hotel is near the principal attractions.
