At the very heart of Haparanda, a lovely old hotel that has been renovated with great taste while honoring the past. Rooms were tidy and quiet. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plenty and great. It also kept you going the whole day. Free WiFi and parking and most important for me, pets are allowed to this wonderful hotel. I truly recommend this hotel for travellers either staying or just passing through Haparanda. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed for a few nights in this splendid structure whose atmosphere takes you back to the past. It was truly impressive; The internal bar/pub is excellent. Excellent welcome, very professional and kind staff. Bathroom in the room to be improved.

In the center of this small border town (between Sweden and Finland) there is this wonderful hotel which has unique, exceptional furnishings, with attention to the smallest details. Suitcases, telephones, large books, furniture and furnishings well suited to a historical period that involves us and immediately transports us to the last century. Several beautiful and well-kept dining rooms are available, particularly the one in the basement created from the bunker which left us truly amazed by its singularity. The excellent buffet breakfast includes lots of fruit, savory dishes and some desserts. Friendly, efficient and professional service. Well done 👏👏👏👏

The hotel is located in Haparanda, on the border between Sweden and Finland, a residence with a certain historical charm, furnished in a classic way with many photos and references to the history of the place and the city. Very nice breakfast room and truly excellent quality of food. We also had dinner two evenings, at the hotel restaurant: among other things, they kept dinner for us even though we arrived at 10.30, which for Swedish timetables was really very late. The only three stars are for the room: ours was very small and with a yellowed Formica bathroom which had perhaps seen the last renovation in the early 70s. Not up to the context and the price paid.

Strategic location between Sweden and Finland. The manager is a special woman who loves this hotel like a son and her love can be seen in every corner. Excellent breakfast. Excellent cuisine. The rooms are warm and comfortable and the structure has a slightly retro charm

Stayed 2 nights in February 2022.. Very characteristic, housed in the ancient castle. Large lounges, furnished with period furniture. Comfortable rooms. Excellent cuisine. James, the chef, also offers special dishes for unconventional dinners. The restaurant room created in the basement is also unique
