Located at the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. The rooms were decent amenities, including minibar and most toiletries provided including toothbrush. Rooms weren’t soundproof though and as it was located on a main street it does get a bit nosy.
The bathroom was luxurious, but the shower was a letdown its poor design caused water to spill and splashing onto the floor, creating a mess. The tub was also elevated which made stepping in and out quite dangerous. Non slip mat wasn’t provided a minor safety concern.
The breakfast was a decent, small but with a varied buffet featuring tasty Vietnamese and Western options, including excellent beef pho. The staff was attentive, even packing a takeaway breakfast for early departures.
The staff were exceptional, consistently friendly, and professional. Communicated in fluent english.
Overall, Le Chanvre is a lovely hotel great location and staff, but fixing the shower issue would elevate the experience further. Or recommend staying in a room with just the standing shower might be better.
