Hanoi Hotels with Bars

This is a hidden gem in the midst of the old quarter. A part of Hanoi where a myriad of shops selling a huge range of goods exists next to Hanoi's seemingly endless coffee shops. In very European architecture These small shops are bustling throughout the day. The hotel is nestled comfortably up a side street accessible via both stress, though only one is used by taxis. The staff are extremely friendly and make it their business to ensure the traveller is well looked after. Rooms are clean and come with a stocked fridge with Beer and soft drinks. The air conditioning is superb and in near 40C heat it is so welcoming. The balcony is large. Almost a second room in itself. Sit on the balcony in the evening during a thunder storm and watch the light show in the night sky...tremendous. With the balcony walls being solid, privacy is guaranteed as is safety...not going to fall off this. Breakfast is a pleasant mix of western and Asian. Cold cuts or cooked food. Eggs done by the chef to order. The hotel has a small travel desk so do ask about places to visit. Staff are very knowledgeable. Top tip: get the GRAB or BE app to book your taxis and avoid cab hailing....the risk of being scammed is very high. One final thought...not far is Railway Street. I won't spoli it....go and find out what happens. Get a daily timetable of trains. It is an experience. Highly recommended.

Jade Orental was our first stop in Hanoi after an 18 hour trip from the US. We were a group of 17 people. The General Manger Mr. Do and his staff welcomed us very well on arrival with a efficient check in process. The hotel is located in a great area (we were walking around after midnight and felt safe). Breakfast spread was excellent and food tasty with lots of variety, customer service was very good, rooms were well appointed and bed very comfortable. Felt at home and very welcomed. Would definitely go back there again. Thanks to everyone for making our stay there great.

Impressive entrance with a short walk to anything you might want/need in Hanoi. Check-in was a breeze when we arrived mid-afternoon. The lobby on Level 1 and restaurant on level 2 are opulent and well-served with competent and English fluent staff. The room I had was well presented, very clean and well-serviced. Great pillows!! Small, but functional bathroom with a great two-way shower. Money can be exchanged at reception at around market rate. The breakfast on level 2 has something for everyone. Vietnamese, western and excellent pastries. Fresh fruit and a great noodle bar. The wait staff and chefs are expert and can create pretty much anything on request. The room service menu is spartan but reasonably priced and well presented and delivered hot. Pasta, pizza, burgers and (of course) Pho. For those not familiar with Vietnamese coffee, fasten your seatbelt before trying. This beverage will wake the deepest sleeper in seconds. Concierge services are effective and non-intrusive. There is a mini-supermarket about 100 metres from the front door where you can find that razor you forgot amongst other necessities. This hotel is brilliantly located near the lake, which is a great location for a stroll. Within a five minute walk you can find pretty much anything that you can think of. There is a roof top bar and pool on level 10 and, to be honest, this was a little disappointing. The pool works, but the surrounds are a little tired and could do with an upgrade. Not a showstopper by any means. The lifts work, the electricity is 100% available and the wifi is fast and consistent. The laundry service is fast and reasonably priced. If you want to outsource laundry, there are several services available close by for USD$1.50 per kilo. My team of 3 stayed here for 12 days and very much enjoyed the facilities and hospitality. I would stay here again any day of the week!!

Great experience at La nueva boutique hotel. Especially thanks to the wonderful staff: Jenny and Jimmy. There were helping me before the trip ( booking for example the pickup at the airport), during ( booking a day trip to Nihn bihn and answering all questions ) and even afterwards ( keeping our luggage during our cruise in Lan ha bay after having done the check out ). We stayed too during the tet festival and it was great the new year eve dinner and the fireworks from the rooftop. Views were super from there. The room was fine, maybe not too big but the beds were most comfortable. Totally recommend it and would come back. It was only 5 min walking to the lake. Easy place too to be picked up for excursions.

The service in the hotel is excellent. I would like to specifically thank the concierge staff who helped me with my taxi booking . I tried to call Grab but after waited 30 mins, the car still never arrive . I have booked a day tour cruise and will be late to reach the pick up point . The concierge staff was very proactive and suggested to call a taxi for me . The taxi arrived shortly and he helped me to communicate to the driver on the location I want to go . The room is spacious and clean . The buffet breakfast spread is good . The staff are friendly and helpful in the restaurant too.

It is an amazing hotel with great service from the hotel staff! Feel free to ask them for recommendations on where to go , where to buy the souvenirs, and also booking of tours! Totally would recommend it!

Our group of 6 stayed 3 nights at peridot. We had some hiccups which was of no fault by the hotel..( like losing one luggage from our group from our cruise, and tour operator etc). The hotel went above and beyond to help us resolve our problems. Special thanks to Plum, who was so nice and friendly and was so professional and efficient to resolve issues for us. Hotel has plenty of restaurants and street food everywhere and is very near the lake. Beautiful pool and sky bar too.Everyone was very friendly and helpful, from the bellboys to the front desk staff. They even gifted my mom who has a bad knee a herbal compress from the spa. Small details and kind gestures made our stay here so special. 5 stars to the peridot team!

The Hanoi Lucien Hotel and Spa or San Grand Hotel as it is now known is a delightful hotel. It is an oasis in a mad, mad city. A place in a city of over 4 million scooters where you can really relax and enjoy peace and quiet. The location of the hotel is terrific. A street or two away from the lake and right smack in the centre of the Hoan Kiem old city. This hotel has to be one of the best places to come to peace and where one can enjoy the peace. It is also probably one of the best places and certainly one of the most pleasant places I have stayed. Don’t get me wrong, there were a few minor shortcomings but these are more than compensated by the perfect location and the terrific personnel. For one the view from our room was certainly not the reason we liked this hotel, neither were the teeny weeny slippers or the soap or shampoo bottles which were not attached to the walls in the shower… no certainly not, but what makes this hotel so terrific is the proactive, enthusiasm and friendly attitude of just about every single member of the staff in this hotel, including the management. From the friendly happy greeting of the ladies that made up our room, to the two young men that greeted us when we entered the hotel and carried our luggage up to the room, or who escorted us up to the dining room. We were equally delighted by the incredible assistance we were given by all the members at the reception desk. Both my wife and I particularly remember Ruby, and that young lady at the travel desk, but their colleagues were also absolutely terrific and we are very sorry that we do not know their names as they did not have name tags and their names also deserve to be mentioned here, but will have to remain anonymous. The restaurant on the tenth floor was marvellous. The view over the city and the lake as well as the food and the service was top notch. Every whim and fancy was taken care of by the very able staff. Our waiter even remembered what we had ordered two nights previously, and when we had any questions or concerns about the wine or the food they were very ably answered by the very pleasant and smart manager, Jeff, who was a most delightful and helpful person. The menu was varied and the food we had was delicious and here again the service was like in the rest of this hotel… top rate. I cannot use or even find enough superlatives to describe this staff as they more than compensate for any very minor shortcomings this hotel may have. The staff were pleasant, enthusiastic, pro-active helpful, informative and professional. An absolute credit to whomever set up this team. But wait there is more. The dining room was also the breakfast room so for breakfast we also enjoyed the same view over the Hoan Kiem area, the lake and Hanoi. The breakfast was also varied and simply delicious. Amazing experience. The service is superb as you would expect from Sofitel Legend. The facilities are good, the place has a true historical vibe without being a museum of antiques. The breakfast is excellent in terms of local food variety. There are several 5 star hotel options in Hanoi, but seems like Sofitel is the best one you can find. Unfortunately we missed the hotel tour, so will need to come back.
