The receptionist was very nice and friendly, when seeing my 6-year-old daughter, she offered us to upgrade my two superior rooms to the rooms for families for free. She also checked us in before their normal check-in time. When we got into our rooms, the cleaning lady - Wendy 潘慧群 brought us a few extra drinks, and a pair of slippers for my daughter, changed the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel right away, and helped us to connect to the WiFi with a lot of patience. The experience at the hotel was great! I definitely will stay in here if coming Hangzhou again.

Check in was a breeze and the reception staff are helpful and speak some English. I was able to extend my stay from two to three nights no problem. The room was bright, clean and spacious with a nice hot shower and robes, slippers ad toiletries all provided. The hotel is easy to find and is in a great location. Very close to Wulin Square Metro and a gentle 30 minute walk to the West Lake. I didn't take the breakfast option but there's a cafe with espresso machine that serves OK coffee. Theonly thing I missed was a safety deposit box in the room but apart from that, the Pagoda was great and I'd happily stay there again.

Great customer service attitude from the front desk and house keeping staff. Special mention to Miss 袁巧花 of the house keeping team for being proactive in assisting our needs. Walking distance to shopping malls, pedestrian shopping streets, and the west lake. 7/11, restaurants beside the hotel. Buffet breakfast included, well worth it at 59yuan because of the numerous selections. Also had buffet seafood dinner that has unlimited famous hairy crab, a wide selection of food at 150 yuan only, shockingly cheap. Enjoyed taking videos of the robot delivering our food ordered from outside the hotel also picture attached

Location – Perfect for Exploring Hangzhou The location of the hotel is undoubtedly one of its biggest advantages. Situated just a few minutes' walk from the famous West Lake, it is incredibly convenient for those wanting to explore one of China’s most scenic attractions. The proximity to West Lake makes it easy to take early morning or evening walks along the picturesque waterfront, which I found very calming. Additionally, the hotel is close to several popular shopping streets, including Hubin Road, where you can find both luxury brands and local shops. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, giving guests many dining options beyond the hotel itself. 2. Warm and Efficient Check-in Process From the moment I entered the hotel, I was greeted warmly by the staff. The lobby is spacious, elegant, and well-lit, giving off a luxurious yet comfortable vibe. Check-in was smooth and quick, with the front desk staff offering a welcome drink upon arrival. I appreciated their professionalism—they spoke fluent English and were well-prepared to answer all my questions about nearby attractions and transportation options. One thing that stood out was their attentiveness; they noticed I had traveled a long way and offered to expedite my check-in, which was a thoughtful touch. 3. Spacious and Well-Appointed Rooms The room I stayed in was a deluxe double with a partial view of West Lake. It was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had all the modern amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with plush pillows and high-quality linens that made it hard to get up in the morning! The room also had a large flat-screen TV, a work desk, and a cozy seating area by the window. The view from my room, although not directly facing the lake, still offered a lovely glimpse of the surrounding cityscape and greenery. One feature I particularly appreciated was the bathroom, which was clean, modern, and well-equipped with both a bathtub and a rainfall shower. The hotel provided premium toiletries and fluffy towels, which added a touch of luxury to the experience. The housekeeping service was impeccable—my room was always spotless, and they replenished water bottles and amenities daily without me needing to ask. 4. Dining – A Great Variety of Options The dining experience at the Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Hangzhou was truly impressive. The hotel’s main restaurant offers a large breakfast buffet that caters to both Western and Chinese tastes. I enjoyed starting my day with a wide selection of fresh fruits, pastries, eggs, and Chinese dim sum. They also had made-to-order noodle and omelet stations, which was a great touch. The food quality was excellent, and the service during breakfast was attentive, with staff regularly refilling coffee and tea without being asked. In addition to the breakfast buffet, the hotel offers several dining options throughout the day. I dined at their Chinese restaurant one evening, which specializes in Hangzhou cuisine. The dishes were authentic and flavorful—definitely a highlight of my trip. I recommend trying the local specialty, Dongpo Pork, which was cooked to perfection. Room service was also available 24/7, and I tried it once when I returned late from sightseeing. The food was delivered promptly, and the quality was on par with the restaurant meals.

The hotel is located in a quite strategic location and it was at Exit B on Ding an road station. There was an upward escalator only but none downward escalator. Therefore, if you have big luggage then please be informed. The hotel lobby seems very stuffy. Feeling breathless if it stays there for a longer period. During registration, there was constant interruption from the travel agent promoting their package which is truly annoying. I was a bit disappointed as I came here to celebrate my birthday during my stay. No upgrade or special or compliment offered by the hotel which is truly disappointing despite the fact that I did mention it on my booking. However, the room was spacious. Strong aircon with a good strong shower. The room was equipped with an air purifier and even disinfectant machine. Disposable toothbrushes and indoor shoes were given as complimentary. A comfortable bed with two big pillows per bed. My room doesn't come with breakfast. In house guests will only need to pay 36 RMB to dine in. However to me, the food was simple and there was not much variety. You can actually check the foods before deciding to dine in. Overall the stay with Merchant Marco Edgelake hotel is still considered pleasant. Front counter staff needs to improve their services. Travel agent staff should not interrupt the guest while during registration. Be professional.

A marvelous experience and I was extremely impressed by the high-quality services this hotel could provide! Location must be 100 full credits, so close to the West Lake Plaza! Very satisfied with the top roof garden views.

I traveled in Hangzhou for 3 days and 2 nights and chose to stay at Sofitel Hangzho West Lake because the location of the hotel is near West Lake. The room is clean and spacious, with complete equipment. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is very delicious. I also received a set of mooncakes as a gift from booking this time. I am very impressed. In the future, if I have a chance to travel to Hangzhou, I will come back to stay here again.

This is a perfect location for travelers especially for people who are the first time visiting Hangzhou , it is just 6-8 mins walking distance to West Lake, Kerry Center is just next door, very convivence for shopping, have a coffee, dinner etc. It's my second stay, i believe this Shangri-la is the best in terms of hotel facilities, location among the nearby luxury hotel such as Grand H. It was a very pleasant stay. PS: A big compliment to their Reservation team, they are patient, pay attention in details, excellent!
