Hangzhou Hotel

The hotel offers all the essential amenities you'd expect. My room had a view of West Lake. The price I paid was quite very reasonable compared to other 4- or 5-diamond hotels, though I'm not sure if the lower rate was due to the off-peak season or the ongoing construction outside, which can start as early as 7 AM. Additionally, the curtain switch was not working and had to be manually adjusted to activate the mechanism, which was inconvenient (hence, I wouldn't rate the amenities 5 stars). A great feature is the 24-hour self-service laundry room, which has three washing machines and dryers—just bring your own detergent. On the bright side, the breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of options. If you're using Didi, make sure to set the exact location, as the hotel is situated deeper inside and the driver might face problem finding it.

The customer service at this hotel is superb. I enjoyed my stay so much that I extended it. Twice !! The location is fantastic too. Cons - my refrigerator didn't work, but it probably wasn't switched on and I probably could have rectified it by asking reception. But I don't drink cold drinks in my hotel so I didn't do anything. A much bigger concern is that I am fairly sure that the room did not have air-conditioning. The weather was cold when I was in Hangzhou, but if you want to stay in the warmer months, book an air-conditioned room. It's so affordable and in the prime location in Hangzhou and should definitely be considered.
