We had booked the Ibis hotel in the centre of Sint Niklaas, but about an hour before we arrived we received a phone call to say they were full and they had booked us a room in a different hotel. We were not happy because we were tired and had been travelking all day. However, when we arrived at the Serwir hotel we were greeted by a lovely friendly receptionist and give our room key. We then went into our room and I could have cried. It was run down and filthy. I wouldn't take my shoes off because the carpet was so badly stained and dirty. Dont go to this hotel until they clean it up a bit. This is not a bit of dust - this is filth and there should be no excuse for it. See attached photos. The photos are just a hint at what was wrong.

Very disappointing stay. Although advertised as a 4 star hotel, there were several issues with our stay. The hairdryers did not work (to which I was only offered a part broken tiny travel hairdryer), the only iron available was broken too and leaked water all over my clothes. The rooms are very dated with leaks from the showers, uncomfortable pillows, very dim and dark lighting and leftover sweets from prior guests were left in one of the rooms which makes me doubt that they were thoroughly cleaned (this seems to be common as mentioned in other reviews too). The housekeeping ladies were quite rude to my colleagues and the older lady receptionist was extremely rude, calling my colleagues room saying that they would be charged a fee if they were 1 minute past the check out time (very strange given that they had not reached the check out time yet). When I asked the receptionist for some advice about getting trains in Belgium, she just said that she doesn’t take public transport instead of trying to help in any way, you expect a little more from a customer service perspective from a 4 star hotel! Only plus was the good breakfast.

Het was een strijdige overnachting. Mijn kamer was gelegen in een gang met drie vergaderzalen en blijkbaar vonden die mensen er niets beter op dan met de deur open te vergaderen waardoor er heel veel lawaai in de gang was en dit trok door naar mijn kamer. Ook s nachts hoor je best veel gerommel en gestomp. Er is weinig isolatie voorzien in de tussen spanten. Spijtig. De kamer zelf was wel mooi. Het ontbijt in orde maar niet 4 ster waardig. Ik kwam rond 9u30 ontbijten en de koffiekoeken werden helemaal niet meer aangevuld. Ook de spek en eieren niet meer. Helaas geen English breakfast mogelijkheid. Dit ontbijt kon in mijn ogen veel meer zijn voor de prijs. Om 10u s morgens begon men dan de gang te stofzuigen ... Tjah wat zal ik zeggen ... Heel irritant. Ik kom hier niet meteen meer terug. Ik betaald nochtans voor een vrij dure kamer. Oja op de kamer is er een tv met ethernet connectie maar de smart functie werkte voor geen meter ...

Zeer goed hotel (waar wij regelmatig voor één nacht verblijven). Vriendelijke, vlotte ontvangst, mooie volledig uitgeruste moderne kamers en een heel uitgebreid lekker (cava)ontbijt. Veilige gratis privéparking net voor de ingang.

Goed hotel met ruime kamer. De aangepaste kamer had een verhoogd toilet, maar de beugels zaten op ‘stahoogte’. Wie zou dat geadviseerd hebben? Ik kon daardoor niet zelfstandig de transfer maken. Het restaurant was erg prijzig, ik had de Vol au Vent, deze was smakeloos en er was veel te veel ragout. Tot onze verbazing konden we niet afrekenen via onze kamer. Argument was dat we de kamer al betaald hadden. Dit was niet het geval, maar ze bleven volhouden. Ik heb dit de volgende ochtend gemaild bij het afrekenen, de aardige receptie dame vertelde dat het restaurant wil vermijden dat mensen via hun kamer afrekenen, omdat er de volgende ochtend te vaak zonder te betalen werd weggegaan. Vreemd, dat ze me dit niet vertelden in het restaurant, nu werd de verantwoording bij mij gelegd en werd ik niet geloofd.

Het hotel is wat verouderd maar heel proper en zalige bedden. Ondanks de drukke baan en groot hotel hoorden we niets van lawaai. Dicht bij het centrum en TOP ontbijt! Van verschillende kazen en beleg tot soorten eitjes, koffiekoeken, cava.. vriendelijk personeel. Een echte aanrader. We konden zelf de televisie met onze Netflix app verbinden. Wat een pluspunt is!

Heerlijk ontbijt en diner. De bedden waren helaas hard en daardoor meermaals wakker. Daarnaast ruis van de drukke weg aan de voorkant van het hotel door accelererende auto’s, motoren en sirenes van hulpdiensten.

Alles oké. Leuke kamer. Perfect en ruim bed. Zeer confortabele badkamer. Zéér vriendelijk personeel. Gemakkelijk bereikbaar met voldoende en gratis parkeermogelijkheid. Hoewel in een drukke buurt absoluut géén geluidshinder.
