Chaucer Palms Boutique B&B

I chanced on the this B&B by randomly selecting a place to overnight on a trip through Newcastle. I was pleasantly surprised by the property and friendly staff service. There is on-road parking (in addition to limited on-site parking I understand) and a nice downstairs common area. The rooms are secured with keypads, which is convenient, and are quite large. Beds very comfortable, and a good bathroom. The location is 100m from Beaumont St, which has many eateries and a pub for easy access. Overall very good value for money, and I would certainly stay there on a more planned trip in the future.

From the welcome to the farewell my husband and I can not falter this establishment. It is very modern and clean, nice room, comfortable bed superb bathroom. But the owner's eye for detail was probably what will make us remember our stay at Chaucer Palms Boutique Bed and Breakfast for ever. There was coffee, tea, hot chocolate satchels, wonderful biscuits in the common room and there was even an knock on our door in the late afternoon from the owner, asking us if we'd like a complimentary beer or a glass of wine, which unfortunately we had to decline as we were going out to dinner and then to a show at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre. The walk to and from the Entertainment Centre took us an easy 20 minutes each way. You get to choose breakfast from a varied menu, it was delicious. This accommodation is located in Hamilton and is within a five minutes walk to Beaumont Street, which has a great atmosphere and offers restaurants with many different cuisines. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
