Best Hotels near Höpfner Mausoleum, Hamburg

hello I am writing to complain the service of this hotel. I arrived in Hamburg airport at 11 PM 7th April, and I made mistake by taking taxi to the IBIS budget Hamburg city (IBHC) while the hotel my assistant had actually booked was IBIS Hamburg airport (IHA). I didn’t realize I made a mistake until the moment I stood in frond of the reception of IBHC. Because I was very late, almost 1AM in the morning of 8th, so I asked the reception guy to help me communicate with IHA, asking for cancelling the IHA reservation and booking IBHC instead, for the sake of 9 hours exhausting travel. He was very nice to do so. Unfortunately, the reception of IHA ruthlessly refused to cancel my reservation, and I had to take taxi back to airport where the IHA is located. What I really didn’t understand was, why 2 IBIS hotels under the same management in the same city could not simply transfer my reservation and I don’t mind to pay the price difference or extra, as I explicitly told the IBHC reception. In fact, I had paid more to IHA than in IBHC that night if I was allowed to be transferred. IBIS was not taken advantage by me. If we think about that German, as a catholic people, refused a exhausted guy who had travelled for 9 hours and was willing to pay any difference, simply because he booked the hotel, I would say I am really disappointed. Standard DZ very small, has more about an Ibis budget than a ”usual” novum. No closet, no refrigerator and also the bathroom is different in terms of size. Bet comfortable, even if I hate it if there are two 90x2,00 meters beds and not a 2x2 meter double bed. For a night is completely enough, but longer in the room could it become a little tight. When breakfast was a lot empty and even after 20 minutes there was no real Sleep to bread, toast or bread and also juice was deficient. Selection of sauce and cheese was limited, but sufficient, for cooked eggs, rhetoric and a small selection of musli, yoghurt and fruit. All in all is at the highest average, but you get tired. Concluded: To 1-2 stays OK, as a location for a longer stay rather too small in terms of the rooms, because if you have to stay in the room by bad weather is place fear. The price should be mentioned positively, no € 40 with breakfast is strong!

We did one night stop on our way from Berlin to Billund, the hotel is far from the city center but that´s not our goal this time so the location was good for us. The room was clean and a note was left on the bedtable saying ”Welcome enjoy your stay” which was nice. Breakfast was crowded ( in elevators you can find rush hours of breakfast ) and the staff barely had control at some point. Breakfast had good variations for all of us. The parking lot was located in the basement and you could walk straight from there into an elevator. All in all, clean hotel with great staff and fine locationif you are not planning on spending alot of time in city center.

The room comes with 1 queen size sofa bed and a toilet once you open the room door. Then there is a sliding door. Once you open the sliding door you will see a king size bed and a shower room with bath tub and toilet. There are 2 TVs, 4 pairs of room slippers. Room size is comfortable for 4 adults. At lobby the hotel provide welcome drinks and cookies. Also packet juice and morning coffee. The hotel is opposite the terminal 1 main entrance. Has to walk cross the road and it was snowing when we were there, very cold.

The hotel is walking distance (5-6 walking minutes) from the U3-Haltestelle with which you can reach the most important points in Hamburg without stones. (Landing bridge, councillor, elb symphony,...). A very well driven street is located next to the hotel, but you don't see it in closed windows. The rooms are clean, light and large enough for a city stay. The bathroom is large enough. A place where you could put the bag (the bag) would be desirable Check-in is uncomplicated and even more complicated is check-out. The staff is friendly, careful and worked competent. Breakfast is OK. You get coffee, tea, water, apple or multivitamin juice. Moreover, several bread varieties, eggs, fruit, butter and margarine as well as various breads from picant to sweet. But don't expect for € 10.50 that there is salmon or sausage, as well as mirror or rhetoric with spice. But you are yourself guilty if you don't find anything here. It's all there. Only a tablet edition I missed to slip the marmelade into the eating cups. I found the eating cups basically a good idea. But how often the cups were touched before me I don't know. The breads are also a little too high, children, smaller or older people have a little difficulty to reach the breads. Concluded: For a city visit, the hotel is an excellent choice. The U3 is a ring line that drives most overground. So you can already make first impressions of this impressive city. I can only recommend it further

I was here five nights in the course of a business trip. In the first night I heard the conversation in the neighbouring room at normal volume of the other guests completely. The hotel is overall very bright. At request, the next day I got another room at the end of a wing and was much quieter. I take this as a huge plus point for the hotel. Otherwise I sat at the bar and waited 15 minutes until anyone came, otherwise it was almost empty. In total, everything came into the years with a charm of the seventy years. For my purposes in general okay, but just not overwhelming.

On a positive note, whith exception for the massive cobweb in our bathroom and the mouldy old buscuit left for us under the bed, the room and hotel was actually reasonably clean. May I suggest bring ear plugs. Granted this is an airport close hotel so expect planes landing literally every 2‐3 minutes, if you are OK with that, fantastic but for me the guy cutting the grass outside your windows at 7am was too much. Rooms are tiny and you would be hard pressed to swing one of the borrowers in them. We were there in good weather and found the whole place musty and stuffy even with windows opened. (I know hotels can be stuffy but this place was next level.) Curtins don't fit the windows and stop very little light so good luck getting a good night sleep. That being said, I will say the beds were comfortable enough. I would recommend bringing you own towels and soap as the receptionist we asked for towels from 4-5 times seemed more concerned with insulting my wife and passing the blame than doing her job. Breakfast, again, the room was clean and food very basic. If you like bread and salami you have hit the jackpot here. Hamburg centre is about 30mins away. Take the 23 bus to Alterdorf, U1 train to KellinghussenstaBe, change to the U3 train which circles the centre. To sum up, we had 4 nights here, staff welcoming on arrival but either unhelpful or inept after that. Tiny stuffy rooms, not as convenient a location as it would seem. It's OK if you're stuck for the night or have an early morning flight. Personally, I would really have to be pushed to stay here again.

The location is better, it is more convenient to eat, the decoration is especially style, very Jiahuan

I was from 28.07.22 - 29.07.22 in the beautiful Intercityhotel Hamburg-Barmbek. We were welcomed by a quite young receptionist. She was very professional and especially friendly. You already felt right well. The wish in the 3. The floor was filled with a beautiful view. The beautifully furnished room has a pleasant size ( we had noticed the cheapest category). The bed was very comfortable and let us have beautiful dreams. There is even Sky Sport/Bundesliga for which men may be interested. Also a minibar with a free water bottle has jumped into our eyes. Very worth praising! Also there was a great rain shower! The only manko was the air conditioning, which was already set at -1 degree Celsius at the arrival. But it was then possible to adjust it individually. What we also felt positive is that there is a free ÖPNV ticket for each hotel guest including. This was very good because we went to Musical ,”Wicked” in the evening and we could conveniently drive to the stage theater new Flora. To the train station you need only a maximum of 2 minutes from the hotel. Generally, this is a very good central hotel. Let's come to the only critical points, and to breakfast, which is currently offered for €17 per person. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed at that point. Most because we paid together at first €51 for it. The breads were very hard. The spoon was dry and the stick appeared not to be made by itself. For this price it was not good at all. This was notified at the reception below and the criticism was also taken very seriously. The woman was also a young receptionist and also very friendly. After our question how to stay here now, we were friendlyly refunded a breakfast and the parking ticket. You can't really make meckers at the service. Great location. Easy to get around and get back to the place at night. If you're a light sleeper I wouldn't recommend the shared rooms, people coming back late at night, the doors close quite loudly. My only complaint is that I received a keycard to the wrong room and walked right into a private suite.. Nobody was there thankfully and I just walked right out, but if I were staying in a private room I would hate to think that strangers could just walk into my room where all my belongings are lying around. Otherwise clean and quite a cool environment.
