Stayed for 1 night for our anniversary. The staff very friendly and chatty who all make you feel very welcome and just couldn’t do enough. The atmosphere is fab with great clientele, great beer and choice of drinks. Evening meal was beautifully presented and so enjoyable which was chosen from a large menu choice . Rooms comfy, clean and well presented. Located in a beautiful village and certainly worthy of a visit. We will certainly be returning if only to chat to the resident cowboy.

Lovely old building with a warm inviting bar. We sat with a view over the high street, near the log burner. We ordered off the main menu at lunchtime. The selection of each course was spot on, my older relatives can’t cope with too much choice. I enjoyed a breaded Brie starter and lambs liver main course from the specials board. A bit of bread with the Brie, to mop up ooze would have got you 5*. Liver cooked very well, not tough or grainy. All in all, a delicious lunch. Thank you to the friendly staff too. Great loos with nice handcream also a bonus.

Lovely lunch - great quality food and lovely welcoming service. The staff made us feel very at home for a family, birthday meal with a baby. Good value too and varied menu - pub classics and more varied options as well. Thanks so much for having us.

We went for a meal on a Sunday early evening. The food on the whole was good - more rustic than fine dining but really nice quality and generous portions. My wife had the half portion serving of the roast and it was easily big enough for a normal appetite. I had the steak and ale pie which had fabulous pastry and good quality meat. Highlight for me was the beautifully kept and poured pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord that accompanied it!! Service was prompt and pleasant and the whole place had a lovely vibe.

We stayed one night here on 14.09.24. One night too many . On arrival we were told by Ms Richardson ( the landlady ) that the torch in the Garden Room where we were staying had been stolen No effort to replace it . The Garden Room is a shed at the bottom of the pub garden . No issue with that but no adequate lights on the pathway or outside toilet . We dropped our stuff off and returned to the Priory where we were attending a wedding reception . We returned at just after midnight and with iPhone torches made our way to our accommodation . After a few minutes the lights and electric heater stopped . ? Fuse . We rang the ever unhelpful Ms Richardson who directed us to the fuse box . It wasn’t there . We finally found it hidden behind two old mattresses . Having dragged them away we located the fuse box that had “tripped “ . I assume she was warm and comfortable in her bed whilst we did what she should have sorted out . My husband and I are in our 70’s ! Unbelievable . At breakfast the following day she intimated we’d done something wrong and that she’d recently spent ? £13 K having work done . Ms Richardson was totally unapologetic. She is totally unsuited to the role she’s undertaking . Beautiful area . We plan to return but will give this woman and her establishment a wide birth . You couldn’t make it up

Just stopped in for a drink when passing. Lovely beautiful location sat out on the front picnic benches. Lovely bar and interior and greeted by very friendly employees. From what I saw the food looked great and we are planning to go back and eat soon.

Another return visit to the Fauconberg . Such a beautiful warm pub in such an outstanding area of beauty . The staff are so welcoming and friendly and it was lovely to see them again and some of the locals . We stayed in the Rosedale room again it’s such a beautiful room with a very comfortable bed . We really enjoyed our meals in the bar the Chinon wine off the wine list was delicious , highly recommend that and the prawn cocktail was the best ever . It’s obviously a well loved place in the area as it was always busy especially tea time just a fantastic atmosphere and a very nice clientele .

We’ve just returned home after another wonderful stay in the garden room at the Fauconberg arms and can’t wait to book again! Such a relaxing and fantastically quiet place to stay but with the fabulous food on offer in the restaurant and the service of an excellent team of staff. The bed is so comfy and the room still offers the hospitality we would experience in the main part of the pub but sitting on the beautiful verandah watching the chiminea burn was really special . We enjoyed a delicious meal of the sea food platter and then the medley of fish and the duck and then fantastic breakfasts both mornings and every member of staff could not have been more helpful. Please don’t change anything about the garden room-it is fab!

Visited for an evening meal whilst staying in this delightful village. Glad that we had been advised to book as it was very busy for a Monday evening. Shown to a lovely table in a very pleasant dining room. The waitress came to our table to take the drinks order - big plus not going to the bar. Both drinks and food menus on the table . We were very pleased with everything, drinks well served as was the food obviously good quality. Very reasonably priced too. Staff very friendly and efficient. Will definitely return when in the area and recommend.
