The Old School House

Ian and Kate are amazing hosts. Once you stay here, you wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. My Son and I had a 2 night stay, we stayed in the twin room, single beds 4foot wide, so comfortable, and lovely warm bedding. The tea and coffee facilities were great, a table top fridge with fresh milk, a large bottle of chilled water, and home made cookies on arrival. Ensuite was great, plenty of towels and face cloths to use, and a stand for your towels, lots of cupboard space too. Absolutely immaculate. The guest lounge was fantastic, comfy settees with blankets available, lots of books to read, games for kids, and sky TV. Breakfast, again fantastic, fresh fruit, home made granola, Greek yogurt, other yogurts, boxed cereals all available before your cooked breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend staying in this B&B to anyone, 5* I couldn't fault anything. Thank you Ian and Kate

Really comfortable, friendly and warm stay. Kate and Ian have everything covered to make your stay here special. Unfortunately we only stayed one night as we were running the wall. I've stayed at this fabulous B&B multiple times, and I keep coming back because nowhere else compares to the warmth and hospitality of Ian and Kate. From the moment you arrive, you're made to feel completely at home. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and the plush mattresses guarantee the best night's sleep. Breakfast is an absolute highlight—made with top-quality ingredients and featuring a varied menu that caters to even the pickiest eaters. Every detail is thoughtfully considered, making each stay an absolute pleasure. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

Oufff, where to start!?! This was our first bed & breakfast experience and we couldnt ask for a better one! Easy check in process. We got there, Kate welcomed in and showed us around and gave us some local information about the local attractions. We reserved our spot for breakfast time, etc. Room was spacious, comfy, well decorated and very clean. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, big portion!! Each morning there was a treat and chocolat in our room. There is also free parking on site for our vehicle. We were there to hike the world-famous Hadrian Wall, so to avoid back-tracking, Ian offered to bring us and drop off our car rental at one spot while he bring us at another location about 10kms away so we could hike back to our car. I truly believe that Ian and Kate made our experience much easier in the area. Thank you so much, you both deserve to be recognized. JF & Celine

Wonderful stay and the most perfect B &B experience. Ian and Kate were absolutely lovely and really made the stay. The rooms are immaculate and the breakfasts are perfect to get you up and about in the morning. IT is so nice to be able to wash and dry your clothes which in our case were extremely muddy after our walks. We stayed two night and Ian helped our tweak our itinerary so we would get the best out of walking the wall and seeing the museums along the way. I can't recommend this accommodation enough and it was the best one during our walk. They have done a wonderful job making you feel at home while at the same time you have plenty of space for your self.

Lovely welcoming venue and great hosts. I’ve stayed before and will definitely stay again- totally recommended - beautiful accommodation, Breakfast first class - bikes can be secured. Nothing too much trouble and great craic. Some of my fellow guests had stayed many times before.
