Great views, accommodations and activities to do. The staff is very friendly and they were able to accommodate our dietary needs to the menu. Highly recommend!

Bai Chay
Citadines Marina Halong

The hotel is brand new and very clean. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The area is still under construction. This (at the moment) results in a less beautiful view/environment. But I am convinced that it will be beautiful within a year. The hotel location is quite far from the city center and shopping malls. A car or taxi is needed. Or you can get bicycles at the hotel. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Special note to Tracy, she has served us several times with very personalized service. Couldn't be better! The 3 restaurants in the hotel are highly recommended. We stayed 6 days in an apartment in this hotel.

A fantastic hotel in a great location. The staff were attentive. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and the view gorgeous. They upgraded us to the 16th floor, bay view. Unfortunately, we were there for Typhoon Yagi which hit on day one of our stay. It was a long and devastating storm. We started out trying to ride it out in our room. But when the hotel swayed and the sliding glass doors seemed to be “sucking” out and the power went out, we decided to evacuate to the lobby. We went down a dark fire escape and saw windows leaking and rattling. It was like a horror movie. When we finally made it to the lobby, the hotel workers were attempting to keep the enormous front glass doors from blowing out. When the power returned and the storm calmed, we were able to return to our room which was undamaged. We had AC, electricity but no wifi. There was no AC in the lobby or the restaurant, and limited food. The next day we tried to walk outside, but with the downed trees, washed out walkway along the water, and glass everywhere, we opted to return to our room. The staff did their best to provide food and drink during the rest of our stay. My only comment is that no one gave us any instructions prior to or during the storm, and no one checked on us. It appeared that it was up to us to decide if the hotel was safe or not and when to evacuate our room. Obviously, we were unable to explore the area and all water excursions were canceled. But we were absolutely heartbroken for the locals who lost so much.
Paradise Suites Hotel

Tuan Chau Island
The hotel is luxuriously decorated, the rooms are large, especially the bed is 2 meters wide, it is clean and tidy, and the service is very good. However, no one at the front desk understands Chinese, and communication is not smooth. I asked about the best way to take a bus to Dongxing Port and exchanged it for more than a dozen times. It took a few minutes to tell me that there was a long-distance station, but this needs to be improved. Rich breakfast. An unhappy thing about this trip to Vietnam is that Vietjet Air forced me to check in my suitcase, and as a result, 500 yuan (10 yuan version) was stolen. I will never fly with Vietnam Airlines again!
Halong Lavender Hotel

Bai Chay
The service is very good, the environment is great and clean. February may be the off-season in Halong Bay. When we arrived near the hotel, the entire area felt desolate and a bit like an empty city. A sharp contrast to Hanoi. People who like liveliness will be a little depressed, and it is rare to see people around. A day trip to Halong Bay is enough for a group tour. It is not recommended to stay for two nights.
