Usual Premier Inn check in. Paid for 3x breakfasts on arrival. We were told the hotel was full and it woukd be busy. Rooms as expected but pillows like rock. Next morning there was a huge queue for breakfast with managers running about stressed. Told us we couldn't be seated for at least half an hour. We left and ate elsewhere and asked for a refund- which we are still waiting for! Poor service. Very poor.

This could be so, so good and yet it really isn't. We paid the extra to check in early, we knew there was a charge snd we were happy to pay. The hotel is ideally located near to Piece Hall, where we were attending a concert. First impressions, ideally located next to the public car park on Broad St. Receptionist very warm and friendly , room a bit tired to be honest, bath chipped in places. We dumped our stuff and then went out , returning at about 22.30 having been out all day in the sun....to find only one bath towel and only 1 hand towel that we hadn't spotted previously. To be honest, we couldn't be bothered going down 5 floors to inform reception, but this was a poor show, considering they've known for ages there were 2 of us coming. I booked this months ago. I think this particular Premier Inn ,needs a revamp, and this is basic stiff. You need to do better. The location is fabulous. It could be do much better. Disappointing for the money paid.

Stayed previously with no issues. So booked again. Different room. Bed was like a brick. Window wouldn't open. Bedroom and bathroom dirty. WiFi wasn't very good and tv remote probably needed new batteries. Breakfast was excellent as was service.

We arrived at 2pm, even though the room was ready we were told it was an extra £15 to check in before 3pm. The room had already cost £171 for one night. We declined and went for a coffee and walk around the town centre. The room was an average premier inn room. Bathroom shower didn’t work properly, the handheld worked but not the overhead rain shower. The room was first floor, but the window was next to the exit ramp of the car park and a public footpath right up to the window so no privacy. Bathroom skirting was very dirty and needed repair. Overall disappointing, and with the charging to check in if the room is ready early means I will only choose premier inn in the future if there is no alternative. I never got a £15 refund for checking out early.

Went to a concert at the Piece Hall. Got back at 10.30pm to be told bar shut go down the road despite a massive sign outside saying open til the cows come home. No toilet roll in room. Instant nescafe in sachets for breakfast coffee. Not up to standard

No milk available for a morning cuppa, only decaf coffee in room ( tastes like sand). One pillow had no pillow case, the other one hadn't been laundered properly and was stained.

Although most staff members were very helpful we suffered a discriminatory attitude from the manager regarding our high needs autistic child which was not in line with the hotel's supposed inclusive policy following a long stay and would not recommend for young families

Checked in 20/06/25, the hotel reception was manned with a very polite lady, we allocated room 121 which was very clean with a very comfortable bed . We were in a hurry to unpack as we had a long drive to Halifax from Norfolk, we were attending a concert at the Piece Hall. The only issue we had was the noise, it was caused by either extractor fans or ventilation fans, the noise was so bad it prevented us from getting a good sleep, we informed the staff at breakfast who were apologetic and informed that they had received complaints previously so obviously ignored. It seemed like the staff didn’t care, we left tired and disappointed.
