It's close to Hakuba Happo-one and just a five-minute drive from Hakuba Iwatake, making it a great location for ski season.
Because we stayed during the off-season, there weren't many other guests and it was quiet.
The water pressure in the shower in the large communal bath was a bit of a concern, but other than that, I was satisfied. ◎
The buckwheat galette at breakfast was especially delicious!

It is about 5-10 minutes away from the bus terminal. Although the hotel is older, the rooms are large and there is a public hot spring. The breakfast is semi-buffet and tastes good. However, there was a shortage of staff and no cleaning service during our 3 night stay.

We had such a lovel stay here. We had a Japanese room for 3 persons - tatami mats and comfy, if a bit thin, futons. The room was very spacious with a little sitting area, and a bathroom area that was separated from the main area . Each of the toilet, sink and shower were separate rooms. Other than the spaciousness and the view, highlights were the onsen in the basement - glorious after a day of skiing - and the breakfast buffet, included in the price. The buffet was a mix of western and Japanese food. I should also mention the boot room, which was well organized and clean and bright. And we loved that you removed your boots in the hotel lobby and wore slippers in the entire hotel. Quick walk to Lawsons and to many hotels and shops. Also, very close to the bus stop for Hakuba 47 and just a little farther from the stop for Happo One (both buses are free and run regiularly to and from the hills). I would stay here again. Good value.

This is a great location for accessing the mountains and enjoying the snow. There are both public and private onsens on site, the manager is lovely and helpful and the drying room for your winter equipment is also great. I have nothing but great memories :-)

I had a traditional Japanese room. It was super comfortable - and the view from my window of Happo One was beautiful! It was convenient walk to restaurants and bars. The Happo One gondola was a bit of a hike - but definitely within easy walking distance is the Hakuba Happo bus station. Easy to get to other mountains via the shuttle.

We had a pleasant stay at the Ougiya for two nights' skiing. It's a no-frills kind of place, which was fine for our needs. The room was a decent size, the onsen was good and the overall ambience was pleasant. It is an easy walk from the bus stop with various dining options and ski rental in the village. One thing to note is that although it's billed as 'ski-in ski-out', it isn't - you have to walk a few minutes to the nearest rental shop then take a shuttle bus from there to whichever slope you want to go to. This was not a major issue, it's just that the description on ******* is not quite accurate. All in all, good value for an end-of-season ski trip.
