V8plus Huanzhi Hotel Haikou Qilou Laojie Branch

Hotel located beside a medical shop & a couple of chinese restaurants. Hotel staff are friendly & fast response, but the room walkway is filled with smoking smells. Called reception to ask & they arranged a robot to deliver an air refresher! Regretted to add the breakfast when booking the room as nothing much & whole breakfast area was filled with cigarette smell! I was surprised that there is a small condom vending machine that travellers can buy thru by scanning their code.

We enjoyed our stay with friends at this hotel. The counter service with free drinks and snacks and even supper was excellent. The staff were friendly. There was a washing machine and dryer free to use too. The breakfast was simple and nice. You can find nice food in the alley behind the hotel. You can even enjoy a stroll at the park opposite the hotel. Qilou is a bit far but still can walk there. But I'm not sure if this hotel is a pet friendly hotel as some guests brought in their dog to have breakfast in the cafeteria. I could hear the dog barking in the room too. I heard the owner of the dog said that the hotel allowed them to bring in the dog.

Clean, comfortable room in a well situated hotel. Staff was kind and professional.

Small hotel located in a convenient location in Haikou downtown area opposite the park. Clean and newly renovated rooms, wash basin located in room , design with tap on the site is rather cool and convenient. Rooms overlooking the park are better, those facing the back have rather boring views of old buildings and roof tops. Down site is the breakfast - lack variety and quantity. Food ran out by 8.30am when there are a lot of hotel guests. Drinks like soya bean ran out and when the attendant was asked , she just bluntly said "no more " Another guest asked if she can top up the fried vegetables, he was told to eat other food available. There are not many choices- only fried instant noodle, hard boiked eggs, clear seaweed soup, plain fried cabbage, boiled sweet potato, siew mai stuffed with glutinous rice, plain buns , pork buns, plain porridge, Barley porridge, soya milk and cut local oranges, many of which ran out by 8.30am Good for a short stay for up to 2 dsys and if you plan to explore the city on your first trip here. .

Feel pity for the one cleaner who has to look after rooms for3 floors. You can imagine the effort and effects on each room
