Small rooms, and a bit noisy. But the service, scenery and the spacious garden make up for it!

We booked 3 rooms here, but because of personal reasons one of our group couldn’t make it. We wanted to cancel the whole trip so we messaged the hotel. They said they could cancel the rooms if they got booked by someone else, and that they would message us when this would happen. They never messaged us so our group went with one person less (the one who couldn’t make it). When we came to the hotel they told us the rooms got booked by someone else. The person at the reception told us it wasn’t their problem and we simply had to leave. Just as rude as that. They did not noticed us so we couldn’t have known that the rooms got booked. We’re from the Netherlands and driving back wasn’t an option anymore since it was already quite late. This forced us to book somewhere else. Luckily *********** helped us nicely and it didn’t cost us any extra money, so thanks to the good service of ***********. Obviously I posted a bad review on *********** since the hotel caused us quite some trouble. We had to drive an hour extra and we had to go through quite some trouble to get a place to sleep. A few days later I got a reply from this hotel that if I don’t delete my review they will report me. So instead of apologizing they just try to intimidate me. I think that says enough about the mentality of the people running this hotel. We figure this hotel just wanted to get double revenue from us and the people they booked the rooms after us. They probably thought we wouldn’t show up anymore and by not messaging us they would still get our reservation money. Too bad for them we still showed up. Show some hospitality, you’re a hotel. Don’t go intimidating when people aren’t satisfied with your organization, try to help them. Shouldn’t be that hard
