Home2 Suites by Hilton Hagerstown

My husband was running the JFK 50 miler so we picked this hotel, as it was right across from the race expo at Homewood Suites. The hotel was modern, clean, and check-in was super easy. The room itself was spacious and we loved the size of the fridge. The king bed was very comfy and there were numerous outlets for charging. We also appreciated that the Homewood Suites hosted 4:30 AM free breakfast for the runners the morning of the race, and that those who stayed at Home2Suites could also take advantage. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Friendly staff was what greeted us when we checked in. They were fast in getting us into the system and into our rooms. This place is centrally located and quite near a mall...like practically in the mall's parking lot and surrounded by plenty of dining and shopping options. The bad. Do not believe **********. This place does not have a HotTub. We're not sure if people are getting thrown by Hotels.com's description of a ”Spa Tub”...which could be either a fancy five-dollar word for hot tub, or there's a suite in here that has a ”cuddle and bubble” suite, or that the bath tubs are large enough to lay comfortably in. Either way, if you're looking to soak tired bones in steaming hot water...you're sadly out of luck. The other nitpick is that the actual website for this hotel says that the indoor pool is heated. When we tried, we found out that it was heated perhaps by the ambient temp of the pool room itself. The water was about ocean temp. For Maryland's Eastern Shore, in Early June. Our inner child was saying ”Ah! Just sink in and get used to it” while our outer adults were putting on their best Leonard ”Bones” McCoy impersonation and saying ”Are you out of your Vulcan mind Spock?” That was a bit of a bummer but a nitpick at worst. The rooms were well cleaned and maintained, the beds were comfortable, and for once the pillows were actually soft and fluffy while actually having more support than a folded T-Shirt. Breakfast was nothing special, just typical breakfast stock prepared well. Eggs were good, sausage was tasty, they had bacon (which would forgive a far greater number of sins), individual quiches that were yummy and they had the assortment of cereals, hot oatmeal and plenty of fixin's as well as the waffle maker which is always a welcome sight at breakfast. So other than the pool issue...this is a nice place to stay.

Went for a wedding weekend and had so much fun! It was laid back yet a great atmosphere especially with the bar/patio. The fire pits added just enough razzle dazzle, bartender was amazing & front desk girls were great! Even the general manager made us feel so comfortable and welcome. The cleanliness is a huge bonus & Staff made our experience all the more better

Visiting Antietam battle site on the way to Gettysburg. Great location with a fun brew pub, sports bar and Starbucks in the same shopping plaza. Clean and quiet room, comfortable bed, nice shower, helpful friendly staff. Wish all hotels offered window spray and paper towels available to clean car windshields.
Super 8 by Wyndham Hagerstown/Halfway Area

Horrible experience at Super 8 Hagerstown. Booked and confirmed online, only to be told after checkin in that I could not stay on account of living less than 85 miles away near Washington DC. Wanted to get a bit of a head start on my way to New York state the next day, I was left screwed over at around 8PM; took me an hour to drive around in the DARK to find alternate accommodation at twice the price. This is completely unacceptable. You lost a customer for life, NEVER will I stay at Super 8 anywhere again. The employee behind the front desk was absolutely no help either. Showing zero sympathy for the plight I was put in, nor offering any suggestions on where else I could stay on a Saturday night on such short notice. Mind you, I wasn’t being rude and our exchange didn’t last long, but I was understandably frustrated for being turned away despite a confirmed booking. I also told the employee I would leave a terrible review, and her reply of “That’s fine” should give serious cause for concern to Super 8 management. By far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I don’t leave reviews very often either, but something is seriously wrong here. I would personally advise staying away from this hotel.
