Visited this hotel many times. Service is very good staff is very friendly. Food is good. Pool is with water fountains located in the garden looks beautiful. Rooms are very clean more than adequate well maintained . Lahiru and his team welcome guests and treats attending to their needs doing a grear job. Lahiru is very helpful and arrange village tours to get a different experience. Thank u Lahiru for everything!!

A nice hotel with probably the nicest pool of all the hotels we stayed in whilst holidaying in Sri Lanka. It was clean large and surrounded by a nice garden. The staff are really friendly and try to make your stay nice. The rooms are a really good size and the beds comfortable. The bathrooms are a little dated and could do with a refurbishment, as could the gym. Food was a bit hit and miss. One night we had a great bbq and local food the next and not that great buffet. Good location near to a lot of the Cultural Triangle places.

We were greeted with the friendliest manor. The staff so, so frindly. One of the most well placed (location) hotels that we have been to. The balcony in the room looked out to the forest. All kinds of animal voices. Squirrels everywhere, all kinds of birds. Room was confortable. Food was delicious. Very happy and highly recommend it

This is our second visit to Sungreen Resort. What convinced us to return was their welcoming staff and excellent location. As we expected, the service was outstanding. We enjoyed a variety of Western and Sri Lankan dishes, with their traditional Sri Lankan seafood cuisine being exceptional. The pool, with its fountains, was wonderful, and the garden provide a great atmosphere for those who love reading and enjoying nature. The location was also convenient for visiting most of the popular sites in Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa. I highly recommend this place!

One of the best resort of our trip in Sri Lanka! We are Francesco e Beatrice from Venice (Italy) and in August 2024 during our travel in Sri Lanka we spent a night at Sungreen resort…it was amazing!! The location (with a beautiful illuminated garden and a swimming pool open until the evening), the position (near to Sigiriya), the room (very comfortable and clean) and breakfast and dinner with a varied and very good buffet (coming from italians, it’s a guarantee )…everything perfect!! But the most beautiful thing was the kindness and the helpfulness of Lahiru and the whole staff from the traditional welcome ritual until the check out always with a contagious smile!! Highly recommended!!

Lahiru and team is very warm and welcoming. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a traditional drumming performance and lighting of a lamp for prosperity and bliss in our lives. Mr Lahiru went out of his way and made special arrangements for dinner for us without any prior requests. Sri lanka is a beautiful country and the staff at the Sun Green resort provide excellent and quality service.

This hotel has beautiful and well kept grounds and an amazing heated pool with fountains which would be great for kids. We were welcomed with a traditional Sri Lankan ceremony and juice drink, this was very refreshing. The staff were very friendly as is typical in Sri Lanka. The room was fairly basic and the outdoor seating had been damaged by animals so one of the seats was unusable. There is only a sheet on the bed as a cover so you alternate from being too cold with the AC on to too hot with the AC off. The walls are paper thin to the point where you can hear light switches being turned on and off. The rooms minibar was expensive and even the bottled water was chargeable. The only food on offer was a buffet which only served western-style food. It was mostly cold or reheated and then left to go cold again, which left us feeling uneasy so we just stuck to soup and bread. The buffet was 4000 rupees per person which is very expensive by any standard across Sri Lanka and to only be able to eat soup and bread because of bad food hygiene was quite shocking for that price! We would probably choose somewhere else to stay if we were to visit Habarana again.
