Wonderful hotel with great staff speaking English and beautiful environment. It doesn’t have beach access, so there’re tuk tuks by the gate that can take you to your destination. Delicious breakfasts and nice views. You can also meet different animals on the territory of the hotel. I’m totally satisfied with my experience of staying here and can recommend this hotel to others 👍

Loved everything about this place. So clean, your room will smell like local cinnamon which they use to mop your room. The sheets and beds are the softest! The views are unbelievable! The food was incredible, both myself (and American) and my Sri Lankan family were impressed with it! Service was fast for anything you needed. We walked down a narrow road to the beach which was about 15 minutes one way, walk back up was a bit steep and you are perched high up on a hill for the awesome views! Will definitely be coming back!

With only 24 rooms this is really a place you must visit. A steep drive brings you to the gate of this hotel, nestled in the jungle of Sri Lanka with a jaw dropping view at the infinity pool. We were upgraded from a Villa to a Pool Villa, thanks to our HH Gold status. Do reach out to the hotel to receive very good rates and deals! Our room was spacious and could sleep all of our 3 kids. The bathroom was modern and fully equipped with amenities. The master bed was foreseen of a mosquito net, aswell as a mosquite spray (keep windows closed, especially after rain to avoid them). The patio had 2 sunloungers, a table and a small plungepool. This was ideal to spot the monkey family in the trees, not far from the room. During our 2 nights we encountered heavy rain and thunder, but skies cleared up in the morning. Awakened by monkey's on the roof we headed out for breakfast, which was a la carte. Choices and portions were great and service was quick. Small note: paper napkins gives the hotel a cheap look, i would replace them with linnen, as they do for dinner. We used the main pool once as most of the day we were out exploring. Dinner is also available and nicely presented, altough staff should refrain to clear plates whenever others are still eating (etiquette). Overall, a good choice whenever you are close to Galle and the hotel and room has all you need.

My partner and I stayed recently for 3 nights at Tabula Rasa in their plunge pool suite and honestly can't stop thinking about how incredible this place was! The Room: We stayed in one of the plunge pool suites and wow - absolutely stunning. The design was so thoughtful with every detail perfect. Having our own private plunge pool was just magical for those morning coffee moments and evening wind-downs. Despite it being “off season” (never a reason to not visit!) the temperatures were still perfect and any rain showers were super light and short-lived. The room itself felt luxurious but still authentically Sri Lankan/colonial. Yes, we came across gecko or bug visitors (which by the way don’t impact your stay one bit! If you’re worried you can contact reception to help shoo any unwanted guests) and met the adorable resident tortoise, but that's exactly what made it feel so special and authentic! Not sure what else to expect when staying in the tropics with a jungle nearby! WiFi was great throughout which was helpful when we needed it. The Food We honestly loved every meal we had there. Everything was so fresh and you could tell they sourced their ingredients locally. The chef is incredibly talented - every single meal was of the highest quality and it was lovely to have spoken to him whilst we were there! We did mention on feedback that the only thing we would loved to have seen is maybe a few more options on the lunch and dinner menus, especially if you're staying longer. We wanted to eat more at the restaurant on our trip and thought having more variety would make it even better - especially for those staying longer! Though perhaps during off season we thought this could be a reason for this. That said upon this feedback, Dilin and the executive chef were super accommodating with offering off-menu requests which was really appreciated. The team had already sorted soya milk for us without any hassle at the beginning of the trip! - this is clearly indicative of how much they value feedback and are so quick to respond proactively. The Service This is where Tabula Rasa really shines. Every single staff member was just lovely - so polite and genuinely caring. Dilin was absolutely fantastic! Alongside some great conversations, he spent time explaining all the different excursions we could do and even kindly offered to arrange a cooking experience with the chef where we could learn to make a traditional dish. Unfortunately we didn't have time to take him up on it, but the fact he offered and took the time to explain everything available was so thoughtful. Akila and the other young gentleman I sadly missed the name of was also wonderful - nothing was ever too much trouble for any of them. The front of house team are also worth a special mention, whenever we needed any assistance.
