We stopped here driving through on a day trip out. With our 6 month old puppy. Such a friendly welcome and the food was fantastic. We had the vegetarian lasagne and it was the most flavoursome we have ever had in a pub. Really accommodating and well worth a visit.

Fabulous village pub, ideally located for adventures on the Black Mountains or walking the Wye Valley walk. A great selection of beers, good wholesome food and comfortable rooms. Excellent value for money, lovely staff and dog friendly too!

Friendly staff and a warm welcome. Ordered fish and chips but could not believe it when I was served a piece of preformed frozen fish from a box, probably cost £3 from supermarket but was charged £14.50 which was an absolute rip off. Should have stated it was not fresh, very deceiving. I was asked if everything was ok when paying and when I mentioned it he shrugged his shoulders and said sorry, really couldn't have cared less. Husband didn't finish his meal either, Hunters chicken clearly once again not homemade. Would never go back as their attitude stinks!

A warm friendly pub. Food was good value for money. I had the steak pie my husband had the scampi. Just how I like my pubs. It had personality not a bland could be anywhere pub. Landlord was friendly and chatty - staff too! Wednesday night when England were playing - it was still busy despite no tv showing the match.

Nice country pub with rooms. Food was good and sensibly priced. Staff welcoming and friendly.room very clean and plenty of car parking. Good English breakfast.rooms had double glazing so roadside traffic mostly eliminated but go for a room at the back given a choice.recommended pub/ Hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights - the service was always friendly and warm, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was tasty and good value (with interesting vegetarian and vegan options provided). We particularly enjoyed their vegetarian cooked breakfast which was very well cooked and well judged. It would be a great choice if you wanted to explore the local area for a few days and needed a comfy base to return to in the evenings. We would definitely come back.

They service excellent local ales ,which are kept very well .The outdoor patio and seating area overlooks the River Wye ,so lovely views whilst drinking and dining .Good pub grub and entertainment mainly at the weekend .
