Location: The property is centrally located in the heart of the market area, yet the interior remains tranquil and secluded, offering a peaceful stay despite its proximity to bustling shops and restaurants.

**Krishnayan Heritage: A Timeless Experience** Step into Krishnayan Heritage, and you are immediately transported back a century, into the regal ambience of Maratha royalty. This charming haveli, built over a century ago by the descendants of the legendary Dadasaheb Phalke, was originally named "Krishna Mandir" in memory of Krishna Bai Saheb, the grandmother of Shri.Vijay Chandrasenrao Phalke. (Present co-owner of the property) Presently Shri Vijay Chandrasenrao Phalke and his wife, Smt. Lalita Phalke, graciously host guests at what is now known as "Krishnayan Heritage." Despite being a century old, the haveli remains both charming and grandiose, with rufous-dressed stone walls, stone pillars, high ceilings, and Burma teak wooden double leaf doors. The front room, now a reception area, retains its vintage charm with a traditional Indian-style "zoola" (swing) for guests to enjoy. The property features nine rooms, including two suites each comprising two bedrooms and a living area. All rooms are spacious, with beautifully decorated double beds, cupboards, luggage racks, and clothes hangers, exuding a vintage charm. The bathrooms offer a relaxing atmosphere due to their unusually large size, which rivals that of the best five-star hotels. Luxurious sanitary fittings and fixtures, including glass partitions for the shower area, rain showers, two-way mixer diverters, and countertop basins with single lever mixers, add to the indulgent experience. The only downside is the instant water heater with a small storage capacity, which does not provide a comfortable hot water bath during winter. Krishnayan Heritage does not have a dedicated kitchen, but lunch and dinner can be made to order. Breakfast is included in the tariff, although it's complimentary the options are not many but unlimited and is served daily in the dining area. One of the most positive aspects of this homestay is its location, right in the heart of the shopping and market area. Despite this, the interior of the haveli remains tranquil. Guests can enjoy the best local ethnic food at nearby restaurants, and there are several local vendors serving kachori, puri, and of course that Atalji's favourite halwaiwala's gulab jamun in the mornings, as well as a renowned flavored milk vendor offering Keshariya milk. In conclusion, Krishnayan Heritage lives up to its reputation as the best homestay in the region. The manager and staff are polite and courteous, ensuring a peaceful and royal stay in the realm of 19th-century royalty. Highly recommended for those interested in an authentic royal homestay experience in Gwalior.

We spent three very enjoyable nights at Krishnayan Heritage. Beautiful haveli building with large courtyard and massive reception area, both nice places to relax. The room was very comfortable with a huge modern bathroom. Really nice breakfast too with a mixture of fresh fruit, regional items (poha, paratha) and omelette, toast etc. Gwalior is a fascinating city, plus we did a very interesting day trip to Bateshwar and Mitawali temples via Mr Gopal c/o their travel desk. But the best thing about Krishnayan Heritage is the warmth and hospitality that both the staff and owners show to their guests. Highly recommended

The hotel is practically at the center of a market but once inside the hotel compound you will not feel it. The interior ambiance is amazing. Rooms big and spacious. You get the feeling of staying at a Palace but with modern facilities. House keeping very friendly. Owner very helpful. Breakfast was basic but sufficient. Diner was nice. Special note: We had to leave early and the manager was kind to get us some breakfast packed but the owner went out of the way to ensure that we did not just get packed breakfast for us/kids but a 3 meal course !! Thanks a lot

We stayed at this heritage property last week and we were very happy with the service and personalised attention from each staff member and the host Mrs Lalita Phalke who takes a lot of effort to make our visit to Gwalior a special one! The rooms are big with renovated toilets and the food is home cooked, just what you need when you are traveling with a 2 year old baby! The staff also went out of the way to cook food for our baby at short notice which we really appreciate!

This home stay property is in a building that is more then a hundred years old, stayed always within the current family, and that served as a school until they changed it into a hotel. The rooms are new but basic, have a lot of space and even a make-up table, the bathroom is new and very nice and the whole property is very clean. Lelita, the owner, is a very nice person and she offered us a free salad as we arrived hungry just after lunchtime, which we ate in the property courtyard in between the Hindu and Buddha shrines. They recommended and booked a guide for us and Chandra ended up being the best guide we have had in our complete stay in India. You can eat inhouse and we did so, but the meal is pretty basic in the rather uncosy breakfast room, it is only 600 Rps though. We brought our own bottle of wine and our portable speaker and enjoyed the meal. I would recommend this hotel as it is very special.

Excellent heritage set up , ideal for a family getaways. Food was awsome. Wow..... only 10 unique rooms are there. Service is not like a 5 star hotel, but you get personalised attention from Heritage home staff. Food served was homely. Memorable.

Very, very basic 2 star property in Gwalior. If you only need a bed, and not much else, then this property *may* work for you. I booked one of the highest category rooms, and was given a room that had no particular historic or heritage value. In the middle of winter, the bed has one thin cotton blanket - the property does not even own any heavier winter blankets. The wifi worked, but even in a premium room there is no cable/TV. The property was difficult to find, GPS was unreliable, and when you do find it, evening guests are greeted with two locked gates. In my premium room, the bathroom had been renovated to have a western sink and toilet, but I had to take an Indian style bucket bath, with no cup provided for the bucket. More importantly, the hot water tank/geyser ran out of hot water before the bucket was even a quarter full. The property tells you that they provide breakfast at 8:30am, and then their staff view this as merely a possibility on their part. The morning I was there, guests were milling about in the lobby waiting for the staff to get breakfast organied, which was half an hour late, and late enough that their tardiness cut into a videoconference meeting that I needed to attend. The property is charging way too much for the very basic 2 star experience that they are able to deliver. I would never stay here again.

The beds were tiny and have a hard surface .The rooms though pretty were a little jaded and dated .They have a newly made /painted room which was much better though that too had small and hard beds. Had to check in and out immediately and a troubled time getting another hotel to stay in. Not too happy especially because their rates are very high and one would expect a comfortable stay for the price they are charging.
