I encountered two issues during my departure: The first was regarding the car drop-off. I had to check out a day early due to Hurricane Ernesto, so I returned the car a day earlier. However, they didn’t make any adjustments and charged me for the full reservation. The second issue was similar. I had to leave the hotel a day before my reservation ended because of the hurricane, which caused me to lose a day of my booking. I booked at Le Barthélemy based on a recommendation from “Carioca no Mundo.” While it was expensive, I was willing to pay more for high quality. However, I didn’t appreciate feeling like I paid a lot but didn’t receive the service I expected. This is how I felt with both the car rental company and the hotel during the last day of my stay—because I ended up just paying without getting what I paid for.
