Konut by thakuru

So, the first trip to the Maldives was looming on the horizon, it was necessary to decide on a hotel in Guraidhoo. The choice fell on Konut by Thakuru. When choosing, I relied on the opinions of guests who had visited it, the current price, which had successfully decreased by the end of the high season (the second half of April), and the geography of the guest house (approximately in the center of the island) was also suitable. I booked the hotel from April 19 to 24, 2024. Unfortunately, due to spring showers in Dubai and confusion in FlyDubai, we had to stay at the airport for a day, we were able to check in only on April 20. The owner of the hotel was constantly in touch, was keenly interested in our situation, booked a speedboat and, finally, personally met us at the port of Guraidhoo. It's a 5-minute walk from the port to the hotel, they brought in our luggage, gave us the opportunity to freshen up after the road. One of the advantages of the guest house, by the way, is the 24-hour check-in and check-out. Well, what can I say? A couple of one-story buildings, several rooms for guests. We only took breakfast with our accommodation, and found dinner in some cafe. On the first day, however, we ordered dinner at the hotel, because we were tired and didn’t feel like going on excursions around the island. The owner left right after our meeting, and the hotel administration was represented by his sister Aru for the rest of the time. She is also the chef, so she carefully asked us what we would like for our first dinner and in what form. We settled on fried fish and boiled tuna, it turned out well, I don’t remember the exact price, but it was quite affordable. The living conditions, in principle, correspond to the price. Moreover, the price is quite negotiable, especially if you decide to stay on the island and need to decide on a guest house, and there are more than one or two of them. There were a couple of tables for breakfasts and dinners in the fresh air, and a separate table for smoking and coffee. Also in the dining room in the fresh air, two fans hung from above, very useful in the Maldivian atmosphere. There were 2 options for breakfast: continental with fried eggs, sausage and croutons or Maldivian with fried eggs and the famous huni. In the morning, you were also given a jug of water, which you could refill during the day yourself, fortunately the water container was available 24/7, as well as all the coffee accessories, drink as much as you like. Our room (a building deep in the yard) was quite quiet, no one bothered us, and there were no guests from the local animals. The furnishings included a large bed, a well-placed air conditioner (it didn’t bother us while we were sleeping), a wardrobe with clothes and a table. There was hot water around the clock, but the bathroom equipment didn’t cause any delight: additional accessories in the form of hooks, shelves, etc. would have been very useful. As for spending time, the typical daily schedule looked like this. After breakfast, we went on one of the excursions, splashed around until about 13-14, and returned home. Light snack (2 minutes walk to pizza) and rest for about 16 hours, then - to the beach. After the beach - shower, smoke break and search for daily bread. Очень уютный гестхаус с отличным расположением, 2 минуты до Бикини пляжа. А хозяева очень гостеприимные и приятные люди. Всегда старались, чтобы нам было максимально комфортно. Организовали нам шикарную экскурсию. Очень рекомендую!

Es la primera vez que visitamos Maldivas pero no será la última. Hemos pasado unos dias magnificos en Konut by Thakuru, han hecho que pareciera nuestra casa. Solo tengo palabras bonitas hacia Anees y su familia. Hemos probado la comida local y esta realmente buena! También tienen muchas actividades para pasartelo genial! Gracias por dejarnos formar parte de vuestra familia estos dias, y seguro que nos vemos bien pronto! 😉
