Baia Bodrum Hotel

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights from 26th June. We enjoyed our stay but would I return? No. I have stayed in many 5* hotels around the world and in turkey but this is one of the lowest standards for a 5* I would say it’s more of a high end 3* Let’s start from the beginning. We checked in at 1am as our flight was delayed so we missed the midnight food. Would have been nice for the hotel to have kept some food aside for us as this has happened in the past but instead we had to order overpriced room service. We were given a land view room with a slight view of the sea, however, I had booked a sea view room. When I mentioned this to reception , they asked me to contact them in the morning as they couldn’t do anything which I did. Asena from the marketing department explained that this was an Agoda issue, however, she was very helpful and changed our rooms so the issue was sorted very quickly which I am grateful for so thank you Asena. Ahead of our trip, I had emailed the hotel and requested a cot for my baby, I received a confirmation that this would be provided, however, when we got to the room, no cot so i had to request this again. Room: rooms are a decent size and clean. Showers are okay. There is a Nespresso coffee machine and some tea bag’s in the room but no kettle or milk so not sure how people are going to make a tea without a kettle. I would recommend they put some milk sachets in the room, I was extremely disappointed that I couldn’t have a nice coffee on the balcony when I woke up. The mini fridge is meant to be filled every day and it was except one day. I had to call reception 3 times to ask for this to be filled and was promised it would but it wasn’t. The last call, I just asked for water as I needed it for my baby’s milk and finally someone turned up with two tiny bottles… Food: very poor. food is catered for Turkish, same options every day with a slight change of one or two odd dishes. I lived off potato’s, rice, chips fruit and dessert. All the all inclusive hotels I’ve stayed at in Bodrum and Antalya have had amazing food with great options. Even the breakfast was poor. Yes they make omelettes for you but no English breakfast, baked beans, hash browns etc. also there is no English breakfast tea which is disappointing, not even at the Starbucks. The desserts and baklawa were delicious. Loved the all inclusive Starbucks. Pool: I went down to reception to book a Cabana as I had seen reviews on here where people had mentioned it was €50 euros, however, I was charged €100. When I challenged this, I was told that I was wrong. So all the other people that wrote reviews about it being €50 got it wrong? I don’t think so! I took the cabana anyway as this holiday was a gift for my mum and I wanted her to have a lovely time but disappointing to see people using the cabanas for free when we paid.i feel as though they con where they can. In the middle of a 2 week stay here and can honestly say its a fantastic hotel, been really accomdating for myself, my wife and our 18 month old daughter. The pictures don’t do it justice - I would actually advise the hotel to stick new photos on Jet2 of this hotel. Case in point being I thought the gym was just a couple of treadmills due to the pictures but its 10x the size the images suggest.. has free weights, a track, sled, hex bars, smith machine, etc! Likewise the kids pool, playground and kids club are brilliant facilities that aren’t shown their worth in the images. From an adult perspective.. pool, bars, staff, food, beach area, all inclusive starbucks etc all amazing. Only complaints would be self service coffee machines at breakfast would help and soft close hotel room doors!

This is the worst hotel we have ever been to. I am shocked that there are good reviews here. The staff does not care at all how you feel here, no one cares about you. It all started with check-in, when we were placed in a literally EMERGENCY room. Our door did not close, one bedside table was missing, there were no hooks for robes (they were torn off). The whole room was dirty, it felt like there were no cleaners in it, all they did was make the bed. When we asked to move us, an Asian-looking girl with glasses at the reception said that there were no available rooms, promised to bring us at least a bedside table, but for 3 days there was no answer or greeting. Speaking about this same girl, 4 days later in the hotel, on the -1 floor I saw a Pilates reformer, and decided to ask the same girl about it (she speaks Russian). To which she could not answer me, she said that she did not know anything and I should look for someone else to ask... That's how well the hotel staff knows about the hotel) A separate topic is food... We were sure that in Turkey the food is delicious everywhere, but no! We now know this after the Baia hotel. All the food is monotonous, if you are lucky and have fish for dinner - there will only be 1 type. And that's if you are lucky. Everything is cold, bland, really tasteless. We only went here for breakfast, for dinner we went to restaurants. At lunch I once saw a cockroach right next to the tray with pasta... If you are with children, I did not see any entertainment for children, except for the music playing in the evening. I want to note that in the end, the hotel employee Asena, after 3 days of staying in an emergency room, moved us. She promised us an upgrade to the 4th category, but imagine our disappointment when we were placed in the same room on the floor above. To be fair, it should be said that this time we had a bedside table and a working door) But in any case, we expected a better room category, but we were simply deceived and in the end, the employee Asena just shrugged her shoulders. The question is why promise something if you are not able to keep it? . We had a deluxe with a sea view, they moved us there. The hotel staff primarily serve the Turks, it does not matter who is first in line. They do not care about it here. The only thing that pleased us here was the sea! But not the beach itself, since it is impossible to lie down after 11 am. I think it is better to take a place from 7-8 am. Everything is packed. The nature of Bodrum is very beautiful, but this hotel spoiled the whole impression. At the moment, we will demand compensation, I will attach our complaint in the photo, some points that I forgot to mention here may be written there.

We had an amazing time at this hotel and loved the entertainment team. Big shout out to Mete, Zhanelya and Nur who were amazing and made our time here great!!!! ❤️ We loved the pool games, darts and boccia. The food was amazing, we loved the buffet, lunch and the a la carte restaurants were lovely too! We loved the Starbucks and snacks too. The staff were fabulous especially the bar and spa staff. The photographer was amazing too and so friendly! Room was so spacious and clean. The bed was super comfy! We loved our stay! George & Chloe

Firstly let me say that we came to this hotel in 2016 and rated it 5*. Would have been higher if trip advisor allowed that. So we booked to come for our only week away in 2019 so chose somewhere we loved. What a bad decision that appears to be. We arrived on Monday to a disgustingly filthy room. Contacted reception straight away and, to be fair, they sent someone immediately. The surfaces were sticky, there was what looked like nail varnish stains, ground in grime as well as dirty curtains and torn sheets. But apparently this is good enough for the hotel to put TUI customers in. The people who came did not speak to us once. The bellboy picked up the bags and told us we were moving. Thankfully the new room was clean Then onto dinner. Previously the food had been outstanding. Yesterday it was cold. Every hot dish was stone cold. It looks like they dished food up at 7pm and that was it. No hot plates keeping it warm and the chips were so cold they could have come straight from the freezer and missed the fryer totally.

I have been sold this hotel by ets turkish tour company on an early reservation when a same segment hotel was £750 baia was £1500 advertasing themselves ultra high class hotel, when we first arrived the dissappointment started as we walken in to our designated room as it was the worst and dirtiest room i ve ever put in a 5star hotel however i have paid for a sea view room,i was givem a room looking at the fields of baia,firet problem sorted and we have been moved to a better room with a sea view and this time the room was disgusting,dirty bathroom,stained phones and furniture,balcony was not cleaned at least a century as the armrests on the chairs was as sticky as a jam, we got help with that as well after arguements and they have "put us into a better room" but this time although we were promised for a additional bed in the room which end up being all rusty, ill cut the long story short as this hotel is not even worth to spend time as it would be a waste but i hope i could help someone else not to fall i to the same mistake and end up with a rip off, Dirty dirty dirty Dirty hair driers Dirty and all torn towels Dirty phones All old furniture and full of dust and staines. Bathroom shower broken giving hot and cold water by 2sec Turns in the shower head Rusted beds Short of staff Do not go there till they straightened themselves The only positive side of this hotel is personal is very helpful and smily but they can only do much with a bad and neglected management.
