We have stayed at this hotel three times in the last year the first time we stayed as a couple and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. we love the style and history behind the building and the way that the accommodation has been updated without taking away from the charm. Our last two however have been with our young children in the family room. I wouldn’t recommend more than one night stay for a young family or a group staying in the family room. The fold-out couch is incredibly uncomfortable even for children and the mattress on it desperately needs to be replaced. The door to the room does not close properly and the light outside in the hallway Is on 24/7 which means it leaks into the room at night time. The shower is also very hazardous, I had noted previous reviews mentioning this so we had brought our own sticky bath mat, however the water from the shower goes everywhere making it extremely slippery. If we are travelling as a couple again we wouldn’t hesitate to stay, however, we won’t be staying as a family anytime soon. It’s worth noting, the parking is plentiful and easily accessible and communication has been fantastic every time. Literally around the corner from everything in town and a 20min drive from the sir George which is the best option for food (coffee peddler is great for breakfast or coffee) in our opinion.
