Very complicated communication & check in process. Street sign not easy to spot after a long trip. Unhelpful absentee owner & no-one local, I was informed, to assist when things went wrong (locked out in a hailstorm!) Frills (tiny fridge full of wine for sale) but no basics (useful cutlery & plates, food prep surface) Dustballs on floor & date expired (by a month) milk. Stay anywhere else for half the cost.

Stayed in the Accessible room. The room felt a bit sparse. Two chairs would have been nice (only one provided). In fairness, the room may be kept sparse for people in wheelchairs, but there was so much space I think a second chair could easily fit in. The best thing: The bed was very comfortable. Nice pillows, nice Manchester. I slept very well. Also, the shower was very good. The worst thing: The room did not lock. You could just push on the French doors and it would open. There was a chain on the inside so we felt safe at night but we could not leave our valuables inside and go out. This was very inconvenient. Instead of going to dinner, we had to get take away (to minimise the time that our belongings were unlocked). We went for a long run in the morning and had to pack the car first, to ensure our belongings were safe. I’m sure Gundagai is a safe town but I don’t like paying $200 a night to not have peace of mind. And finally… I called as soon as I arrived (around 8pm) to register my complaint about the lock but was only called back the following morning. Too late to solve anything for me. It is a lovely building with a lovely view (if you have a front facing room), but the studio rooms facing the back are not worth the money. Particularly if they don’t lock up!

Wonderful motel in Gundagai. We stayed on our way to Melbourne to break up our trip. It was a little difficult to find, as the GPS takes you to the sidestreet, not the entrance. In the dark, I can imagine the entrance would be almost invisible due to very small signals on the pillars. Once inside, though, the rooms are spacious and welcoming. The decor is very inviting and gives you the feeling of an old English manor. There was no wardrobe in our room, so if you're here for more than a couple of nights, you might be inconvenienced. One thing we would have liked was a small bin in the main room. There is only one in the bathroom, so disposing of teabags, etc. needs to be considered. All in all, a really nice place, comfortable bed and nice bathroom.

The best place to stay between Sydney and Melbourne. We've done this trip many times and Flash Jack's is the best accomm we've found. Tasteful, an Australuan flavour, clean, classy, everything you want. Comfy bed, good pillows, great bathroom, quality amenities, full Mini bar, good heating, sleeping blanket, big TV. What's not to like?

Lovely spot and the room was spacious, clean, modern. We managed to get the last available room and it was an accessible room which made it seem somewhat sparse, especially the bathroom. It was slightly noisy (it was a full house) and there was quite a lot of ambient light seeping around the blinds - without these issues, I would have given four stars. Very well located to walk into town for an evening meal; reasonably priced.

Very comfortable accommodation with ultra cosy beds. Excellent touch to have electric blankets too given that it was very cold when we arrived. We were recommended to the Family Hotel for dinner which was great and there is a great breakfast cafe nearby called the Niagara.

We only had a one night stay enroute from the Hunter Valley to Melbourne. Location to the lovely town centre of Gundagai is excellent and a short walk down a hill. Property rooms are equal to a 5 star hotel standard. Furnishing are beautiful and quality toiletries provided. The bathroom was quite large. Pprice is quite expensive though. We were located downstairs in a studio. Only downside is that the apartment upstairs had a small child who was constantly running and the sound echoed downstairs early in the morning not allowing for a great sleep in. Otherwise as the property is set back from the road it was very quiet. I would certainly consider the property again but pricing needs to be more competitive.

We have stayed at this hotel three times in the last year the first time we stayed as a couple and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. we love the style and history behind the building and the way that the accommodation has been updated without taking away from the charm. Our last two however have been with our young children in the family room. I wouldn’t recommend more than one night stay for a young family or a group staying in the family room. The fold-out couch is incredibly uncomfortable even for children and the mattress on it desperately needs to be replaced. The door to the room does not close properly and the light outside in the hallway Is on 24/7 which means it leaks into the room at night time. The shower is also very hazardous, I had noted previous reviews mentioning this so we had brought our own sticky bath mat, however the water from the shower goes everywhere making it extremely slippery. If we are travelling as a couple again we wouldn’t hesitate to stay, however, we won’t be staying as a family anytime soon. It’s worth noting, the parking is plentiful and easily accessible and communication has been fantastic every time. Literally around the corner from everything in town and a 20min drive from the sir George which is the best option for food (coffee peddler is great for breakfast or coffee) in our opinion.
