The hotel itself is nice with well-kept grounds, simple, clean rooms with a balcony or terrace, friendly staff, good breakfast, and even a swimming pool. I also noticed the width of the bed in the single room positively, probably 1.20 meters compared to the usual 1.00 meters. So far all good! But my rating is so low for the following reasons: 1) I slept very badly because I didn't lie very well on the mattress, which is certainly more a reflection of individual feelings. However, the large, thick pillow made it even more difficult to lie down. A second, smaller and softer pillow could easily help in my opinion. 2) Even if the statutory provisions on the Corona rules have largely fallen away, I would have liked to see more precautionary measures here: there is a dispenser with disinfectant in the entrance area and a large Plexiglas pane at the reception, both of which are completely fine with me. However, I didn't like the processes in the breakfast room at all: I think it's reasonable that the breakfast buffet is either protected by plexiglass walls (open at the bottom like at the reception) or the guests wear masks when they go to the buffet. But especially I think I can reasonably be expected that the employees in the breakfast room should continue to wear FFP2 masks and thus contribute to protection against infection! There are still people who are at increased risk due to their age and/or previous illnesses. It is important that these people are also in a Hotel felt safe and secure Without these two points of criticism, which I believe can be remedied with little effort and at low cost, it would have easily been four stars.

We have been guests at the Phönix Hotel many times. Due to the Corona period, however, the last visit was about a year and a half ago. In the last reviews, the hotel received a very good and an excellent rating from me. The Corona rules were adhered to very well. Even if, despite 2G+, an additional daily PCR test is required for the sauna area, I think it is absolutely right and important. The staff were very friendly. The evening menu has changed. My ribeye steak and my wife's Phönix beef burger were very good. The rooms were clean as usual. I would like to criticize the following: In the past, hot water for teas and cold water were available in the sauna area. I would understand the Corona-related omission if there were not still stacks of disposable cups and the mouthwash provided in the toilets, as well as the breakfast buffet, where everyone touches every spoon, fork or carafe at the buffet. Saving at the wrong end!? Still new to me; My coffee is still brought to my table. If you want a cappuccino or latte macchiato, you have to pay a full €2.90 or €3.60. Let's be honest: with the additional cost of 10-20 cents per portion in the retail price, perhaps an additional cost of 50 cents for each breakfast cappuccino ordered would be enough. I have absolutely nothing against the double room price becoming €10-20 more expensive due to Corona, but little things like this are noticeable. The management should think more about this, as they are certainly only acting from the outside. It is certainly not inviting if you are still sitting comfortably at the bar after eating and after 9 p.m. it is already being cleaned in bright light. In my opinion, I don't see any faults with the staff, rather with the management..... What a shame! One last tip: you shouldn't roll the full garbage containers in front of the entrance area at the weekend when the garbage is collected on Mondays. It doesn't look particularly inviting when you look out the window at breakfast. 😉

Very satisfied, the hotel is very clean, the environment is very good, there is a hiking park nearby, there is a delicious Italian restaurant, I like it very much, I will come to live next time.

We arrived on Friday for a family celebration. Our first dinner was excellent. Served hot, the meat was cooked to perfection and everything was super tasty and the service was top notch! The room was very nice and modern and very clean. The family celebration on Saturday was perfectly organized by the hotel. The hall was very nice and prepared with love, the service was fantastic and the buffet left absolutely nothing to be desired. There was something for every taste, served hot and always replenished in abundance. The breakfast was also simply great. The hotel staff have a lot of fun at work, that was obvious. From the outside, it seems that there is a very harmonious and great team spirit within the team. Thank you very much for this very nice stay in your hotel. We would love to come back if we find ourselves in your area again!

Hotel has everything you need. Very basic rooms, definatly time for some updating and got some free pretzels that the previous guest left for us on the floor. Breakfast and diner very basic but fine. But I would recommend if you have some drinks / food. CHECK your bills or ask for a duplicate . Because we thought ow nice we can just put in on the room and pay it all in the end. When we checked out we got giving a price. and with some quick math in my head. Thought it was ok. And after we paid we then got the final bill. but on the drive home we looked over the final bill and it was more then expected. And then it tooks weeks of emailing to get the money back. Mostly because they didn't reply and i had to email again and still it's unclear how we got charged €75 too much on the €200 food and drinks bill.

A great city centre from outside, a 90s disaster from inside. The staff was friendly and effortless, but for a house with this classification nothing was fit except the outer appearance. The comfort room should cost 144 euros with breakfast. Yes a castle is old and if restored furniture had been used in the last century, then it would have been a great event time. Unfortunately it was different. Old and unpleasant. After that we asked for an upgrade and it would propose to us a room for 220 euros. Until it was finished for the reference we went to drink coffee. We stayed in the castle cafe on the terrace and wondered that there was no one here except us in the coffee on a beautiful Saturday. Can happen who knows. Then we fell into the expensive room and we almost fell, but larger but equal style that doesn't fit to a well-renoved facility, and again dirty and unpleasant. We thought 5 minutes and then decided to leave. No matter the price of the more offers would have to be than unrenovated 90 style, we didn't feel well. We can't say anything about the restaurant and breakfast, but our personal opinions did not expect anything good for food and drink, but that is only our assessment and no experience. We have been sleeping well and pleasant at home and perhaps the burglar will use the money held from EUR 144 for the first renovation work then it would not be completely lost.
