The Bonnie Badger

Everything you could want from a hotel/ restaurant. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were excellent - small but perfectly formed. Bathroom was immaculate with a wonderful shower and heated floor. Bedding, towels all beautiful and the homemade salted chocolate chip cookies were sooo good. We ate in the Stables restaurant one night and the food was top notch with excellent attentive service again. Breakfast both mornings absolutely delicious - we had full Scottish one morning but you also got fresh fruit salad and yoghurt with fruit compote. You can tell they use the best local ingredients in everything they serve. Even the plates, dishes and mugs are ceramics by a small Scottish business. And a great music playlist in the bar, restaurant, garden room. Extra little touches which just added to the cost, welcoming vibe. We loved every minute of our 2 night stay and were sad to go, even with a compliment gift bag of water and homemade flapjacks. Fantastic value for money - we’ll be back!

Really enjoyed our time here the room was great and really enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Service was excellent. Had the scallops, pork and cheese board. The house rose is excellent and lots of wine choices. The bar was a little dark but that is being picky. Good place.

Absolutely loved it. We spent the night at the Bonnie badger and from the moment we walked through the door the whole experience was fantastic. All the staff working there are great from the warm welcome when checking in to the attentive staff in the restaurant. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Made to feel very welcome The food was exceptional not only in the evening but the following morning at breakfast. Honestly can’t recommend it highly enough and I can’t wait to go back

Food was great, service efficient and the atmosphere was good. The food was delicious. I had the French onion soup which had good depth of flavour and sweetness. The grilled prawns were gorgeous, I loved the addition of the sourdough that mopped up the flavour of the prawns. My husband had the haggis bon bon and the Wagyu burger again all very good. The wine list is excellent. We ate in the bar which was around 75% full on a week day lunch time so it had a good vibe. Would definitely go back and recommend.

My daughter bought me a voucher fMy daughter bought a voucher for afternoon tea for my 60th Birthday. When asked if we'd like tea?, coffee?, hot chocolate? Or something else, I answered earl grey and my daughter opted for hot chocolate as she drinks neither tea nor coffee. We went on to thoroughly enjoy our meal with my daughter opting for juice when we were asked if we'd like anything else to drink. She was shocked to discover the hot chocolate and juice were charged as extra...£12. I unfortunately was at the toilet when she was given the bill so never found this out till later. I am very disappointed to find out she was charged for this as these drinks had been offered as if they were an alternative to tea. I've never come across this before. 😔

Arrived for a family birthday lunch having booked in advance for a 1430 table. Drinks order taken giving time to view the menu. Orders given for food along with dietary requirement questions answered. Our meals took over an hour to arrive with poor serving to the table and sides were warm or cold. Food was ok but had expected better, drinks had to be reminded to come along with other side orders. Overall experience was not great which comes down to training your staff to perform to the standards you set this is not the case at the Bonnie Badger.
