Guilin Wonful plazal Hotel

Located in the outskirts of the city, this hotel presents a great value for money option in Guilin. Overall, the hotel deserves strong mention for the price point and having full facilities expected for a 5 star hotel. The room is large and clean, the hotel is well maintained and the staff are friendly. The only downside is being away from the city center, which during super peak season might be a bother waiting for didi. The breakfast is not great but since the hotel gave it for free, it's an added plus.

The score online appeared quite impressive, yet the reality was a let-down. The male staff member at the reception, along with the supposed supervisors (female), seemed devoid of even the slightest trace of a warm smile when interacting with customers. Their demeanor was akin to that of someone looking down their noses, exuding an air of snobbishness. When confronted with issues stemming from the hotel's side, they didn't swiftly act to resolve them from the guests' standpoint. Rather, they subjected the guests to repeated rounds of communication, resulting in an experience that was utterly dissatisfying. As for the room cleanliness, it left much to be desired. The only redeeming quality might have been the sound insulation, but even that paled in comparison to the disheartening attitude displayed by the front desk staff.
