Algarve Marriott Salgados Golf Resort & Spa

Had the most amazing stay at the Marriott hotel, staff were amazing went above and beyond to help us. Hotel was stunning and food 5*. Highly recommend this for a place to get away from the madness of the world!!

Having stayed at a few hundred Marriott hotels over the years and always been good, this hotel stay was very disappointing. At check in we were advised we had a room upgrade although it was the same room type as in our original reservation! Our room was not ready which as we were early was not an issue and we were told we would get a call when it was ready. We did not get a call and checked back at reception early evening. Only 2 on duty in reception and not really enough staff to cope quickly with queues. When we got to the room it was a double bed not a twin as booked and as the phone in the room did not work we had to go back to reception to ask for a change . The receptionist advised the mistake was ours until I showed her the confirmation of a twin room! The room itself was fine although dusty and the smoke detector seemed to be covered up. We had dinner in the pool bar restaurant and there seemed a general lack of organisation and leadership. We asked on several times if we had ordered and also if we had enjoyed our meal even though nothing had been delivered.Food when it arrived was OK although expensive for what it was. Overall not a great stay and with the exception of a great porter , service was poor .

Very good hotel, good installations, the restaurants are very good, in the outdoor restaurant I have to highlight Vitor he is really nice, in the inside one Tamang is also very nice and in the Japanese restaurant called Kan-jo, Sandip is very good and friendly.
