Wonderful place

“Atlántico” is a great dining choice for any occasion and any meal of the day. Delicious food, professional service, and a cozy atmosphere are complemented by a spectacular view over the Atlantic Ocean. A big thank you to Chef Carlos for his beautifully executed and tasty plates, and great applause to Alexis and Oliver for their exceptional hospitality. I highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic dining experience as well as for friends and family gatherings. A kids’ menu is available.

I almost do not want to excel this place in case it were to sell out when we go next year! It was better than we had expected and friends had raised our expectations high. We were there 13 nights and had a lovely upgrade. Parking is brilliant with lifts from underground to apartment doors. breakfast was good with very good staff and views. There are 3 pools. Even at half term it was not over noisy and service is very good. We used their restaurants, catered in and drove to recommended restaurants nearby. There is a well stocked shop near the top that has all you need. The grounds are just perfect. It’s easy to find peaceful shady spots and the evening views to La Gomera were memorable. Not cheap but very special and recommended.

Las Terrazas de Abama Suites is a beautiful hotel, with lovely views of the golf course, sea and La Gomera island. The apartments are comfortable, spacious and well-appointed. We self-catered for a week and found the apartment’s kitchen facilities to be everything we needed. They even gave us a free upgrade to a two-bed apartment, which was fantastic. Location-wise it’s not within walking distance of much, so you’ll either need your own transport or to rely on taxis, tours and transfers (the latter is what we did). There is a small shop on-site, which fills the gaps but you couldn’t do a full week’s food shop there. We stayed there the first week of March 2025, and had mixed weather, but two of the three pools are heated so we were able to swim every day and the pools weren’t at all crowded. The indoor gym is well-equipped, with amazing views over the sea, and also wasn’t busy at all when I used it. There’s also a free shuttle down to the local beach, which is a great perk. Finally, the food - this section is more specific to vegan travellers. My partner and I are both vegan, and we chose to stay here because of the opportunity to self-cater in a comfortable hotel environment, and it fulfilled that completely. We didn’t use the on-site restaurants for lunch or dinner (which are really your only options if you don’t have a car or self-cater), so I can’t comment on those but they didn’t have many enticing vegan options on their published menus. We went for the room rate which includes breakfast, but if you’re self-catering I’d probably say you could provide the same things for yourself. The breakfast spread is great for people without dietary requirements/preferences, and if you eat dairy and eggs then you also have good options, but for vegans it’s quite limited. There weren’t any vegan options on the a la carte menu, and in the buffet the options are fruit, salad, bread, cereal, and non-dairy milks. On request, in lieu of the menu items they provided grilled vegetables, baked beans and avocado, to go with the buffet options. The staff were helpful and always provided an option, but compared to some more vegan-friendly hotels I’ve stayed at the options here were more limited. In summary, I’d definitely recommend staying in this beautiful hotel. I’d be very happy to stay again, but as a vegan (fully appreciate that’s my own choice!) I’d probably fully self-cater next time.

We've stayed many times at Las Terrazas, and usually enjoyed it tremendously, but this time was a great disappointment. It was not mainly the broken stuff in our appartement, like the bathroom door that would close and wasn't fixed for the whole week of our stay, or the dishwasher that didn't work properly, although that was annoying. But most disappointing were the arrogant and unpleasant staff we encountered. Don't get me wrong, most people were great, but a few very unpleasant experiences can really ruin your stay.
