"Good location, just a short walk from the morning market and night market. Walk the other way and you'll reach the Mekong River. The room is quiet, the water flows strong, and the staff speak well. There is no cleaning of the room each day. You may have to tell the staff to come in and do it."

"What a find! Away from the main street although easily walkable to the night market and bars and restaurants.
Carefully prepared breakfasts which we both enjoyed.
Rooms are large and individually decorated, cleaned daily. Really loved the beautiful decor.
Service was excellent. Any query was answered fully and suggestions for activities and restaurants given if and when required.
There was a lovely pool area with beds and chairs too.
All in all I would thoroughly recommend this boutique hotel for families or couples."

I plan to take my parents abroad to relax during the National Day holiday. After careful selection, I chose Thongbay. Because the company did not inform me of the holiday information in time, I used two apps to book hotels, both of which were Thongbay. The experience can only be said to be very good! When we left the hotel, the two elderly people also expressed high praise and strong reluctance, which made me very relieved.
Our English is not very good, and we are more worried about communication difficulties when we arrive, so I sent an email to the hotel in advance, explaining my itinerary and that I used two apps to book the hotel. The hotel quickly replied to me and said that they understood our itinerary.
When we arrived on the same day, we provided our passports, and the boss quickly got our itinerary and booking status. After a series of thoughtful instructions (including how to order breakfast for the next day, when the hotel can pick us up in the city for free, etc.), the boss took us into our room, which is very local and very clean.
In the room, the boss also told us very considerately and in detail how to use the shower, how to use the air conditioner, how to use the fan, and that we must close the doors and windows from 6:00-7:00pm, because the flower-legged mosquitoes are very dense during this period. During the explanation, as long as there is something that I don’t understand, the boss will patiently explain it again.
On the morning of the second day of check-in, we went to the waterfall. The driver we found came to pick us up in advance and told the boss about our trip to the waterfall. So when we were leaving, the boss stopped us and gave us a backpack, saying that there were towels and other supplies in it. If we finished swimming in the waterfall, we could use the towels inside. Really super considerate!
The most amazing thing is that on the third day of our stay, we went to the charity site and couldn't find the way back to the hotel. We finally followed the map and walked to the vicinity of the hotel. We met the hotel's puppy. The puppy must have gone out to play. When passing by us, it suddenly turned around and walked forward to lead the way. If we walked slowly, it would stop and wait for us. It took us to the door of the hotel. After the hotel owner said morning to us at the door, the puppy wagged its tail and turned around and walked away. Long live the puppy!

but they rarely smile and come across as unfriendly.
The breakfast is good value for money and delicious.
However, the menu is the same every day
so you might get bored if you stay multiple nights.
The only thing that bothered me was the weak water pressure in the shower in the room.
For the price, I think it's a good hotel for solo travelers.

I like the wooden style and the warmth and security brought by the locked door of the homestay.
The price is still very good.
The problem is that it is far away from the center, and we rely on bamboo bridges during dry seasons. After the bamboo bridges are gone, we mainly look at the feeder boats. The boats leave very late in the morning, and taxis in Laos are very expensive, which is always inconvenient. It doesn't matter if you rent a car.
The room is small, but the hygiene is good.
Bedding was torn. Bathroom shower and toilet cannot be separated.

The boss is a Vietnamese in Laos. If you have good English, you will be very happy to chat with him. I am, this is the second time I have lived in his house. In addition, he has a youth travel. In the evening, he can go there and talk to backpackers from the world. If English is not good, it may be more troublesome, the boss does not speak Chinese, but he said he is working hard, haha

You didn't have to set the alarm because the children's noise would wake you up in the early morning.
The bedroom was clean, but the bathroom was dirty (corners of the toilet and showering space)
Based on the menu, you could only choose one dish. It's shrimp noodle soup, but there's only egg and noodles.
You can't expect more with this range of price. They should deep clean the bathroom.

余余There is a parking lot, the location is good, the facilities are old, but the environment is good. The boss is of Chinese descent. The most important thing is that he used to be the principal of the local Chinese school. There is no problem in Chinese communication. It is difficult to find Laotians with better Chinese in this place. People are very nice and helped me solve many specific problems. My son is still studying in China and my daughter is a beautiful stewardess. The family is friendly to the Chinese. The next time I come to Luang Prabang will choose to stay in their home.

GGuest UserVery good location near to attractions but not affected by noisy activities. I was given a room with a balcony which was the best feature I enjoyed most. The washroom was poorly maintained and almost every fitting was loose. The washbasin was choked, my greatest complaint.

The Guesthouse is an old wooden building with a lot of character and charm. The hotel staff were very friendly & helpful, and they spoke good English which helped a lot.
There is a nice communal balcony that we enjoyed spending time on, with free cold water, hot water, and tea & coffee.
We were also able to book a motorbike rental & organise our transport to the train station via the guesthouse which was also really helpful.
We highly recommend this place !

The only comments I feel I should make are that the noise travels throughout the hotel. When people are coming and going throughout the night, it is quite loud.
As for the staff they are very friendly, but quite noisy in the late evening.
I stayed for 1 week and there is no house keeping offered for cleaning your room. I'm sure if you ask they would clean.
