Terra Vinum

My husband & I recently visited this Hotel for two nights on our way home from a visit to family in Germany. We received a warm welcome from Quentin, who later introduced my husband to the Hotel’s ‘Degustation Menu’, sampling the wonderful wines from their own vineyard. Not drinking myself, my husband immediately expressed how impressed by the quality he was, needless to say, a couple of cases returned to the UK with us! Having previously requested an Accessible bedroom, due to my mobility issues, we were pleasantly surprised by the size & the lovely spacious wet room. We took the breakfast option each morning we were there, and this would satisfy most dietary needs. We were also fortunate to find that the Spa opened on the day we were there, and whilst we didn’t have a dip in the pool, we did use the sauna, steam room and the small relaxation area. It isn’t the biggest pool area, and at one point, the maximum amount of people were using the space, which became quite noisy when a group of 6 were chatting in the pool. Our only suggestion regarding this would be for the Hotel to restrict it’s use to around 4 people at a time (the number of loungers), and diary people in for an hour/two at a time. It was in a wonderful, if quite a rural, secluded, location, but had lovely views of the surrounding vineyards, and was close enough to drive to Colmar and Eguisheim. It is somewhere we would love to return to, and hope to do so once again on one of our trips to/from the UK.

The only problem with this hotel is that it's likely to become much more expensive soon. Although in a lesser-known Alsatian village, its location is near perfect, amidst vineyards, with sufficient free parking, close to Eguisheim, Colmar, and all the other beautiful villages. Even Gueberschwihr itself is very inviting for a stroll. Rooms are air-conditioned, ample, well-equipped, and so are the bathrooms. Everything is still new. Breakfast is delicious and the staff are very attentive. They offer their wine tastings, and you will surely find something suiting your preferences.
