Stormscape
June 9, 2025
Opened in September 2019, Rosewood Guangzhou has quickly established itself as one of China’s most luxurious urban retreats. Soaring above the city on the top floors of the Canton Tower IFC complex, it faces the Canton Tower directly with a full view of the daily light shows!
I stayed in the Canton Tower View Room and was immediately struck by the stunning skyline views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The interiors are a flawless mix of understated modern elegance and traditional Chinese elements. The room featured a plush king-sized bed, a sleek marble bathroom with dual vanities, a rain shower, and a soaking tub with panoramic views. The tech amenities—like the bedside tablet to control lighting and blinds—were intuitive and top-notch.
Wellness & Gym Facilities 🏋️♂️
The gym and wellness floor is located on the 93rd floor, is a standout feature. The fitness center is one of the biggest and most well-equipped with new high-end equipment by Technogym. What makes the workout experience exceptional is the 360-degree view of Guangzhou while you exercise. The indoor infinity pool is equally impressive, exuding serenity and luxury with a view that stretches endlessly into the sky.
Breakfast Experience ☕🍳
Breakfast at Brick Lane, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, was a delightful affair. The spread featured an array of international options: made-to-order egg stations, dim sum, cold cuts, fresh juices, and a wonderful selection of artisanal breads and pastries. Special touches like fresh coconut water and local congee stations showed thoughtfulness and regional pride.
Dining Highlight – Lingnan House (一脉) 🌟
The culinary crown jewel of Rosewood Guangzhou is Lingnan House, its One Michelin Star Cantonese restaurant. The menu celebrates classic Cantonese cuisine with refined modern presentation. I highly recommend the char siu made from Iberico pork—tender, smoky, and delicately sweet—as well as the steamed crab roe dumplings that quite literally melt in your mouth. The service was impeccable, with staff offering detailed recommendations and thoughtful wine pairings. It’s a must-visit, even for non-hotel guests.
