I believe this hotel use to be very good and popular with its brand name. But now it is old and needs to be renovated. It smells as it was fully smoking allowed hotel.
It is clean, the towels almost as a new. Nice shampoo in the bathroom.
The location is a bit far from a nearest subway and there is almost nothing around except Starbucks.
There is nice view to the river if you lucky to get room in that side.
The breakfast is limited but worth the price.

Breakfast is good ,location is idéal for a short stay
Hôtel is a little old and would really need some refurbishment , requested a non smoking room but still was smelly .
Smimming pool is good but not inside the hôtel , need to take a 5 minute walk , the outside pool is not heated

Great value for the money. Extremely friendly staff. Large rooms. Magnificient canton tower view. Very nice outdoor pool. I can recommend this hotel without hesitation. I will definitely go back.

For me, the Pearl River Ramada is in an ideal location, halfway between the Guangzhou Opera House and the Xinghai Concert Hall (in walking distance of both). And - if you choose - with a view of the Canton Tower.
It is well run and well-served by taxis. The reception staff are professional and speak English. All staff are polite and helpful. The dining room offers very good buffet choices for breakfast and evening meal.
The bedroom was comfortable and with that iconic view.
