The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou

The hotel is right next to the library, the provincial museum, and Huacheng Square – an unbeatable location. **Facilities:** Although a bit dated, it still has an elegant and majestic charm. My husband really liked the style. **Hygiene:** Very good. **Environment:** Great location. **Transportation:** It's convenient to cross through the library and take the APM light rail to cross the river. To get to Canton Tower, you can take the Zhujiang Tram for great views. **Service:** The staff are efficient and responsive, though concise. However, there were a lot of people entering and exiting the hotel, so they seemed very busy. **Single Executive Lounge Privilege (five meals a day):** We were out sightseeing, so this wasn't suitable for the two of us.

The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou, a luxury hotel brand under Marriott International, is characterized by its European classical palace-style design. This time, I stayed in a Deluxe City View King Room, 50 square meters, on the 29th floor, including one breakfast, for HKD 2,092 per night. It had a smart toilet, which was very useful. The sauna only had a wet steam room. Since it opened in 2008 and was renovated in 2021, it's a fact that the facilities and design are relatively old. For hotels, it's always better to stay in newer ones than older ones. However, the front desk staff were very friendly.

Overall, I had a thoroughly satisfying stay! The great service was evident from the moment I arrived. A special shout-out to Viria at the front desk—she was professional, gentle, and made the check-in process seamless. She proactively briefed me on all the hotel facilities and services; she was just so gooood! She even arranged a customized keycard for me that said "Piggy was here ^o^." Whenever I had a minor issue during the stay, the front desk responded super quickly. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was very convenient. Highly recommended—I will definitely be back! Aww, I will totally choose this place again next time!

I stayed for four nights. At first, I thought the room was just okay and a bit old, but as I stayed longer, I started to like it. Being able to take one elevator directly downstairs was convenient, and the elevator was fast, unlike some hotels where you have to transfer. Since food delivery isn't allowed up to the rooms, easy access downstairs is crucial. The room had a window with a direct view of the Canton Tower, which exceeded my expectations. The TV in the room could cast, which was great, and it was directly facing the bed, making it very comfortable. The only thing I have to complain about is the breakfast. It was really mediocre; the toast was like biting into a brick. There were many varieties, but most were just average. However, the breakfast for the two nights I had it was 150 per person, so I guess you get what you pay for.

Overall, I'm satisfied. Traveling with a one-year-old, this place offered a crib, water for formula, and a dryer, which was even better than expected. The room had a view of Canton Tower, and I was happy with that. However, we were assigned to a lower floor, and I wasn't pleased when I realized this, but I didn't want to bother changing rooms (the crib was already set up), so I'm deducting 0.5 points for that. The breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant staff were very thoughtful, preparing a high chair and utensils for the baby. The front desk service was great. Seeing we had a child, they extended our check-out to 2 PM, and when the little one got a bit fussy, they even provided small balloon toys to pacify them. The location is excellent, right next to the museum and library, making it suitable for older children. It would be even better if the kids' play area hours (12:00-18:00) were extended.

The room was as dilapidated as a heritage building. The bathtub wall was cracked and almost cut my thigh, with all the sealant in the middle gone. There were so many people that we had to queue for breakfast, even though it was almost closing time, and it was incredibly noisy. The staff were terrible; I waited five minutes to buy something and no one even bothered to help me. I also want to say that paying 2000 for this, including breakfast, is a rip-off. It would be better to add 500 and stay at the Rosewood than to pay to suffer like this.

During my stay at The Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou, I'd like to give a special commendation to Jacob from the concierge team. From the moment I arrived, I experienced his professional and genuine service – he proactively inquired about my travel needs, helped coordinate reservations and transportation arrangements in advance, and every detail was meticulously considered. Jacob was quick to respond, handling everything efficiently and reliably, ensuring we didn't have to worry about a thing throughout our stay. Communication with him was also very pleasant and reassuring. It's clear he has a genuine passion for his work; he doesn't just follow standard procedures but truly takes care of guests as if they were friends. This perfectly balanced and thoughtful service is consistent with The Ritz-Carlton's usual high standards and made this stay particularly memorable. Thank you, Jacob, and I look forward to my next visit.

The room had a Ritz-Carlton style, but it was a bit old and the window view wasn't great. During the National Day holiday, it was crowded and the service was just average. The picture below is a birthday cake (they said they couldn't help with the setup due to the crowds during the holiday, but last year at the Mandarin Oriental, they agreed to help and even the complimentary items were more thoughtful).

My partner and I chose the Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou for our romantic getaway, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The location is absolutely unbeatable, offering stunning views of the Pearl River and Canton Tower, especially at night – the ambiance is incredible and perfect for photos. The staff were very friendly, and both check-in and responding to our requests were prompt and attentive. The room was generally clean, though there was a tiny bit of room for improvement in some corner areas. Facilities were well-maintained, but you could see some signs of use on certain equipment. It's super convenient for leisure and walks, with plenty of places to explore right outside the hotel. It's truly ideal for couples on holiday, very romantic, and most of our experiences exceeded expectations. Overall, we were very satisfied and would definitely consider staying here again.
