I wish I had known that room service would be closed before booking this hotel because I would have booked somewhere else considering how out of the way and difficult it was to find decent Western food in this area. I was feeling a little off my first day here due to having gotten a Pfizer Vaccination in Bangkok the day before, and I didn't want to leave my hotel room however when I tried to call room service no one answered, when I called the front desk they told me there would be no room service until Monday. Otherwise, the hotel was great, I think they might have given me an upgrade because my room had a surprise balcony (which I definitely made use of). The pool and gym were decent and the staff at the pool were excellent and even loaned me a swim cap because I hadn't brought my own. The hotel was very nice and clean, as can be expected at a Holiday Inn, and the breakfast was varied and delicious offering several foreign breakfast options.

That was awesome hotel, I really liked their service and hospitality. All staff were friendly and helpful in all aspects. They make you feel like your home, and I would like to appreciate that. I highly recommend this hotel for any guest passing through Guangzhou, and I wish I had some more days to stay. Pick up from/to airport was on time, with professional drivers assigned!

Every time I stayed, they upgraded me to a one-bedroom balcony suite in room 558. Thank you very much. Balcony suites are available in 64 square meters and 70 square meters, while suites without balconies are 51 square meters. InterContinental has 10 hotels in Guangzhou (excluding those that have been withdrawn and those that have not yet opened, such as Intercontinental Luxury Hotel Xianglan, Prince Mountain Holiday Resort, Dashi Express, etc.). The layout is very balanced. Except for Nansha District and Outside Conghua District, there are basically one store in each district: Nanhu Holidays (Baiyun), Poly Intercontinental (Haizhu), Poly Holidays (Huangpu), Shifu VOCO (Liwan), Zhixuan (Panyu), Indigo (Tianhe), Center CP (Yuexiu), Crowne Plaza (Zengcheng)... This is also the case with Poly Holiday. There is no paper bag distributed by the group, but there is a non-woven bag. The breakfast coffee machine is broken and always stops automatically. There are no standard coffee paper cups provided by the group, but paper cups purchased by ourselves, and the lids are of poor quality. The executive lounge is on the 12th floor. Since it does not provide executive treatment, I don't know if it is open.
