Castello di Cisterna Umbria

We were there last year and they had just opened. The impression was very good especially for the aesthetic aspect of the village. This year we returned with the children and ... disaster! The rooms they gave us were very noisy, we had to ask for towels and worse than the worst, hair everywhere! In the pool there were many deckchairs and water with many leaves and various insects. Breakfast ... terrible! The classic products in bags from hard discount heated in the microwave and undrinkable coffee. Too bad because the place is really beautiful but the management is not at all up to par

Stunning medieval village. Very well kept. It has maintained the typical shape of a castle but with today's comforts. Even the swimming pool fits in very well with the fairytale atmosphere that you breathe. Quiet but not too far from the areas of greatest interest in Umbria. We were welcomed very well. Even our dog fell in love with the place.

My husband and I spent a weekend in this splendid, perfectly preserved medieval castle/village. The castle stands at about 400 meters above sea level and can be reached comfortably. As soon as you arrive, you are struck by the architectural aspect and the attention to detail of the small village within the walls, the breathtaking view, the silence and the clean air (as well as fresh, which in these days of extreme heat is a real godsend!). The apartments are harmoniously distributed throughout the village and the rooms, very comfortable, each with an independent entrance, are equipped with a kitchen for total autonomy (so I recommend arriving with shopping done because, I assure you, once you arrive you will not want to move 🤗) The place is very suitable for both couples and families and to complete it there is a beautiful swimming pool equipped with very comfortable loungers to relax after a nice swim. The manager, very capable and helpful, showed us a structure under construction near the walls, where a restaurant is being built where, whoever wants, can take advantage of both lunches and dinners and/or aperitifs. I highly recommend a holiday in this wonderful place if you want to escape the chaos of the city and recharge your batteries among the nature and history of beautiful Umbria.

Only positive thing: beautiful historic location Negative. Owner: request for cash even before arriving (more than €600), frozen structure remained in the freezing cold for 4 days with child in tow, kitchen not working, dirty apartment, few towels and bed not made. Being more than 10km away from a town it would be the least to put something in the room. Broken window frames, covered with scotch tape and obviously various insects (spiders, bedbugs...)
