Recently stayed here & this hotel is in need of much needed attention. The furnishings were banged up & stained. The metal window blinds were old & dirty. The bedding had no fitted sheets & the bedspread was a Llama print! The balcony & stairway had bird droppings. The location with its view of the ocean & beautiful sunsets is a positive. The owner needs to put as much attention to this hotel as his red corvette!

This place was nice 20 years ago. No frills, but well priced, I had a jacuzzi in my room, fireplace and crashing ocean waves outside. I did bring my own down comforter and pillows as I used to use it as a city escape when I had roommates after first moving to San Francisco. Now? I wouldn't stay here if you paid me. It has joined the ranks of Indian owned dumps. You can't even book or check availability online. Tech capital of the world and I can't book a room online. The hotel is in disrepair as well, the sheets are awful, it's just horrible. The restaurant is awful as well. It's a shame.

Scuzzy!!!! Walmart sheets. No fitted sheets, so if you like touching a dirty hotel mattress, this is your place. Rusty fixtures, dirt in the corners of the room, filthy furniture. Shower/tub thing from the 80’s is so nasty. Tiny tv you cannot even see from the bed. Nobody answers front desk at 8pm. I’m so grossed out, I may go sleep in my car. Disgusting! 🤮

We booked this hotel through TripAdvisor, and the place is very old. We arrived late, tired, and needing a good night's sleep. Something did not look right when we arrived, as the only people staying there appeared to be construction workers fixing Route 1. It is in the process of modernizing. We got one of the "new rooms," and we were too tired to complain since it was a one-night stay. The room was filthy, with mold in the shower and windows/sills that needed cleaning. We found bugs near the coffee pot and in the bathroom. Strangely, they removed many electrical plugs, which was a pain considering all the chargers you need nowadays. They must have run out of sheets, as we had two top sheets that came undone in the night. The mattress was terrible, with a broken spring on the left side. When I finally set everything up, it was 9 pm, and the circuit breaker kicked off on one side of the room. The breaker panel was outside somewhere, but I was too tired to make a big deal out of the poor condition. We do not recommend this hotel. I suggest that the hotel owners not offer rooms until you are done fixing up this old hotel. Paint will not fix everything, and whoever did your electrical work and cleaned your rooms needs to be fired.

Filthy and overpriced! Manager won’t give me the time of day to respond to my complaint about the cleanliness of the room. See the photos! The shower had model and the seat even had someone else’s hair on it! The tub was absolutely disgusting as well!

My sister and I got river and ocean view room but the weather was foggy so we didn't get to enjoy the balcony. Very large room with queen beds. Only complaint were the windows could use a cleaning. Would stay here again! Be sure to use AARP for discount.

Looks great from the outside. We stay in room B6. Walking into the room was great, however once we got to looking around the room thing change in a minute. The balcony view was great. But the two rusted metal chairs were a turn off. No place to sit and enjoy the view. Beside that the door frame is rotten. Water stain on the ceiling. The soaker spa tub had a nasty yellow ring aground the fixtures. The sink drain plug was plug up so the water was very slow to drain. Under the sink was open so you see all the pipes. Toilet seat was loose. Not enough out lets. Oh, you have to supply your own press logs for the fire place too. Last but not least. Under the room behind our room is another room with a balcony. Weeds growing up under the balcony to hide the old sinks remove from the rooms. So sorry I just can't rate Breakers a very good place to stay.

Picked the end of December for a drive down from Sacramento to Los Angeles along the west coast, on the beautiful, incomparable US Coastal Highway 1. This was along anticipated, 36-year dream plan to experience that coastline up close… Of course, the weather and our airline (Southwest) both conspired to screw things up royally !! It rained every day of our 10-day vacation except the last, and when we were to fly from Seattle to Sacramento, the airline industry had a meltdown, leaving us stranded at SeaTac at 5:30 in the morning. Well, we couldn’t give up, and rented a car and drove 17 hours through pelting rain to get to CA and assume our planned itinerary. Wouldn’t advise anyone to try this !! Gualala ! A small, never-heard-of-before town, on the North California coastline, overlooking the vast, unbroken expanse of the North Pacific. Getting there was a trip: from Napa Valley, through the western coastal mountains to Coastal Highway (the scenic US Route 1) and, in some spots, a somewhat nerve-wracking drive in the fast-deepening dusk along sheer cliffs. And there are spells of stunningly beautiful waters and thundering waves crashing on the shore far below. Just the most spectacular sight, weather permitting. Unfortunately, we had to take what we got, as the weather was not being very cooperative. The hotel is not quite ocean-front, but ocean-side. Spread over multiple buildings along the coastal road, they offer very spacious, clean and comfortable rooms, with very large ensuite baths, and all the amenities. It appears that all the rooms are designed and decorated differently ~ ours had hardwood / laminate floors throughout, so that prevents guests dragging in the sand from the beach. A large TV (mandatory) and some scattered, framed prints on the walls. The bath had an ample shower stall and also a jacuzzi bathtub, both spotlessly clean, and some nice touches like a table for one’s toiletries and reading materials by the jacuzzi & toilet seat... always great for home-library aficionados like me. The rooms have balconies looking out over the waters, and the sunset must be fabulous (when available… but we got there too late for that feature presentation anyway.) There is also an excellent restaurant (Vue Kitchen) on the property. We had dinner there and the food and ambiance were relaxing and excellent. It was a great deal since after the drive we didn’t really want to go out again. So, a bottle of wine to wind down, followed by a short stroll to a great dinner, and then back to the room to try and catch a bit of the ocean from the balcony between the rainy wind gusts. And a very comfortable night in their generously sized bed and luxurious bedlinen. Somehow, I remember going out in the morning and walking along a clifftop path to get coffee from a small deli just north of the hotel: did I miss something, or did they not provide any coffee service in the room ? Hmmmm…. Worth the visit, very impeccably executed and c
