Hotel is little bit older but still kept in good shape. If youre planning to visit Caminito and want to sleep close (in walk distance), its a good choice. Breakfasts are simple but ok, from 8:00 and consist of hot drink of choice, bread, sweet pastry(like pasteles), jamon/cheese/jam/butter). Very few restaurants, one righ in/next to hotel. Restaurants are not open all day but only lunch/dinner time. Restaurant in the hotel opens at 19:00 (I believe till 23:00).

Great location for doing the Caminito del Rey however, the rooms were clean but cold without the radiators being turned on. We used the A/C to warm the room. No extra blankets were provided in the room. Shower head couldn't be held on the wall as the bracket wasn't the correct one for the shower head. The lovely young lady at reception was extremely helpful. The barman and waiter, Pedro, was abrupt and rude to us at the table after a glass of wine was accidentally spilt. We were told we would have a table near to the fire as it was actually cold that evening but we were sat against a window as far from the fire as we could be. My wife had 3 layers of clothes on and was still cold. We asked if we could have more wood on the fire and he simply replied "No". I feel he may have realised that he'd over stepped the mark at breakfast time as he was relatively polite. The food for the evening meal was OK but very salty. The chips were over fried and tasted burnt.

There was a problem with the hot water and so we were not able to shower after swimming in the reservoir and before going or for dinner. When we asked how we were going to be compensated, the owner said that he would not and that we were the only clients who had complained. I was speaking Spanish and using the formal address but he used the informal address with me which is very disrespectful. He was extremely dismissive with us and not apologetic at all. However, the receptionist Isabel was quite the opposite, she couldn't have been more accommodating, kind and polite.

Nice little hotel. Great lobby. Room 106 was horrific. Little shower that wont handle the shower and floods the floor. Poor mattresses. Well overpriced!!! The staff was very nice and welcoming. Car parking not too far. Nice restaurant. Ice small bar.

Purposely booked this hotel as the tunnel entrance to the Caminito is a short walk away. The beds are comfortable. Typical Andalusian breakfast, which I liked. Parking next to hotel is free. If you want to walk the Camino this is a great hotel to use as base.

After our Caminito del Rey walk we went to the restaurant/bar attached to the hotel for some rehydration and tapas. We had a really great time and this is highly recommended and certainly MUCH better that El Kiosko that seems to get most of the passing trade. Excellent service, good beer, great patter of a selection of tapas and very good value. We'll be back!

It was a very unpleasant experience. The person in charge of reception attacked another colleague who worked there, and all this in front of my family. I don't think they even saw us, we had entered to ask for information about the Caminito del Rey but we stayed in a corner a little dazed. We heard some screams and there was a punch to a young boy who also worked at this hotel. My children are small and they were traumatized by so much violence. We will never go near this hotel again, people who plan to spend the night at this hotel should think better. I don't like to prejudge people but from his appearance the person responsible was unkempt, covered in tattoos and offered a terrible image of this structure receptive to this act of violence.

Very secluded place to forget about everything and rest. Pedro in the Restaurant, Gregorio at reception and Baron were like my family those days and they treated me as such. It is difficult to forget them and the surroundings. Nacho

We booked this hotel because it was in a very convenient location for accessing the Caminito del rey, an absolutely valid experience that I recommend. However, the hotel was a disappointment, costing a lot for very poor services. Old structure, 80s furnishings, uncomfortable beds, truly poor, almost shameful breakfast.

The hotel staff is nice as long as you are at the reception, if not there is no way to find them. The location is perfect if you want to rest before or after doing the Caminito del Rey. Room with large bed, clean bathroom with more than enough shampoo and gel, air conditioning in good condition. Disappointing breakfast, no fruit, bad coffee and the very clueless waiter.

We were supposed to do this hike but with the heat and one of us being sick we decided against it. The able-bodied bathed in the nearby lake. The rooms were OK, but the restaurant was really not good: everything was too salty and the chicken nuggets turned into bad croquettes. Continental breakfast, no buffet. The hotel is close to the start of the hike: this is the only interest

Merci
