Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa and Beach All Inclusive Resort - Couples Only

Very nice resort with a variety of tasty eating options, comfortable rooms, beautiful beach, and attentive staff. The facilities are are well-placed with secluded areas and popular areas throughout. It's a little bit of an older Sandals and the new layouts are more efficient, but it is well-maintained, especially the grounds which were immaculate. The beds were comfy, climate control was great, bathrooms had lots of hot water with good pressure, and housekeeping impressively stopped by twice daily to keep the room clean, restock, provide turn-down service, etc. The staff was cheerful and competent. The large gym had nice modern equipment, fresh towels, infused water, and was never crowded. We went on several dive trips to fantastic reefs and wrecks. Of particular note was Marcus Joseph, the knowledgeable dive master, who gave personal attention to all divers, maintained strict safety protocols, and made the trips fun and interesting. When one diver discovered they had dropped their dive computer after we boarded the boat, he retrieved it in about 5 minutes from the bottom of the sea - amazing. Lisa at the breakfast buffet was very sweet and gave us a warm greeting every morning. We had a fantastic vacation marked by impeccable customer service that seems to be the hallmark of Sandals.

We had a great time. This Sandals like all Sandals is amazing. The people who work here are incredible. They worked so hard during the unpredictable weather of Hurricane Beryl to make everything perfect. Some of the workers I know by name who are awesome are the manager (Clifford), the bartenders (Francis, Clent, Remi, and Peter) the dive guide (Joker). The country singer was so great. He played for 2 hours non stop. The best tour is the boat tour just off the beach. Lyles Tours was the best. Lyle, Capt. Nash, and Johnny B good run a great boat. Johnny B was a tremendous tour guide. He was funny, patient, and very personable (RUM PUNCH!!!!!!!) Cocco on the beach was great to talk to and hang out with. He even saved a chair for my wife!! Just one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed!!!

We just got home last night from a fantastic trip to Sandals Grande in St. Lucia. Pros: The entertainment staff was phenomenal. Every day they had games by the pool and did not disappoint with the entertainment at night. They were super personable and mingled with the guest. I can’t praise Neville, Cassius, Tomeka, Abigail, Diesha, and Mauka enough. I would go back to this resort just for them. They kept us laughing and were so welcoming. The shows at night were great as well. One night it started to rain but they didn’t miss a beat and kept On going. We were super impressed. Our favorite was definitely the silent disco. We laughed for 2 hours. So much fun! We had an amazing pool bartender who made the best drink we had all week. Her name was Gail and no one made our drink like her. She was amazing! Novon was another great bartender who made us some great drinks as well. The views at this resort are amazing. No matter which direct you looked, it was beautiful. Our food at Gordon’s was the best and Andre our bartender that night made our meal. He was helpful and so accommodating. He definitely made our experience fantastic there. We did the snorkeling trip that they offer as well and our guides Brandon and Ron were great. There was another lady with the training and she was hilarious. We enjoyed her as well. Cons: Our service at the restaurants was very slow. Most nights, our dinners took about 2.5 hours and that was with us having reservations. We were a party of 8 but the choices are limited at dinner so I didn’t feel like it should take that long. The elevator in our building wasn’t working and we were told it had been out for a week. Unfortunately our room was on the 4th floor. We ended up using the staff elevator all week. The cleaning staff was not great at restocking our linens like towels and washcloths. We did have to remind them on several occasions about that. The Palledum room needs some updating. I feel like most of the resort is really nice however that room is used for several events and it leaves little to be desired. It is very hot in that room and just needs updating. The billiard room was nice but the dart boards had few darts that were actually together. That could definitely be updated as well. It was also frustrating that there was only ONE American plug in our room and it was out in the living room area. There were zero in the bathroom. I just wish I had known to take some adapters. Last, the AC in the rooms. That’s got to be improved. I felt like we were hot for a week. I’m quite positive that the AC ran 24/7 but the rooms did not seem to cool. In the evening when you shower, you have to keep the bathroom door open because there is no ventilation. So if you can get a fan in your suitcase, I highly recommend it. Overall, this trip ranks as one of our favorites!

Overall, everything was amazing. The food is fantastic, the drinks are great, the staff is friendly. Definitely go to the pool bar and ask Peter to make you a Peter special. The Lover's Leap drink is also great (as is the hummingbird, the dirty banana, pretty much any drink is great)! Melissa was a guide on one of our tours, she was so friendly and fun. We did the Dune Buggy and Zipline tour which was SO FUN. The SNUBA trip was close by so it wasnt a long drive and it was super fun. The only complaint i had about any of the islandroute excursions was the Rum and Chocolate tour. The little sports bar in Anse La Raye called Valelse where we stopped for lunch... dont get me wrong, the food was delicious, the problem was... there was no toilet paper OR SOAP in the bathroom... which, to me, doesnt bode well for the hygiene of those preparing your food? And even though my husband and i got different dishes, we both had diarrhea afterward. I blame the pasta salad side dish because it SEEMS to be a thing in St Lucia that they dont refrigerate mayonnaise that CLEARLY SAYS refrigerate after opening. But back to the resort. The only piece of advice i have is bring a gnat/fruitfly trap. You know, those little plastic fake lookin apples you can buy to put in your fruit bowl that trap gnats? Bring them. I don't know who goes and ONLY orders room service for every meal? But they set their dishes on tables in the hallways which happen to be RIGHT NEXT TO our door and the staff only come around, it would seem, once or twice a day to pick them up. Which means all day or all night, fruit flies are buzzing around right outside our door and following us in even though its not even our dishes (because we didnt get room service). SO. I suggest bringing those so you dont have that same annoyance!

We planned a trip to St.lucian grande sandals- where we gave 11 other couples a butler suite for our wedding- While there were a few glitches with communication, planning paperwork and weather (never anyone’s fault)- we had such a lovely time and an unforgettable wedding day! It was the staff who really turned it around- from Fern, our wedding coordinator bringing us cocktails in the church while we were doing pictures to resetting up when it started pouring rain!!! to our amazing butlers- namely Tamara, Gemma and Lanna- these 3 women took care of us like family- they were so kind, helpful and proactive- the trip would not have been near the experience- This review is for those girls- i cant thank you enough!!!

I never write a review. I always try to find the good in any vacation. However, when its exceptional, I felt the need to say so. We traveled with another couple. We took regular rooms and loved our location and rooms were beautiful. After our hour 1/2 ride "which is no secret", we were starving and it was late. Our 1st encounter was meeting Sharlene the Poolside manager. She stayed late to make sure we ate even though the lunch restaurants was closing. She didn't rush us and she made sure we were completely taken care of. And she continued to show her greatness throughout our stay. Honestly I felt like VIPs. The staff at this resort of course along with the amazing food, beaches and service were the perfect combination for the best vacation. Mike the resorts General Managers presence was seen throughout the week. He is hands on and it shows because his crew had smiles for us everyday. He personally went above and beyond to ensure a great vacation. I always say in life, its the little things that make the difference. They are proof its true. I consider myself a "traveler". This is one resort you don't want to miss!!!!
