The hotel is situated in a historic building on the Grote Markt, providing a truly central location. My room was modern and up to current hotel standards. I was given a spacious room with a comfortable sitting area. Despite the bustling terraces on the Grote Markt, it was remarkably quiet inside. I didn't hear any street noise. The staff at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful. The power went out in the entire building at 2 AM due to a leak, and it wasn't resolved by morning, but we were offered breakfast in the adjacent building as compensation. The staff went out of their way to address the inconvenience for the guests, which I greatly appreciated.

The hotel and restaurant staffs are professional, friendly and helpful. The hotel is visually charming and offers a number of venues for nice dining. We enjoyed our daily breakfast. Coffee and tea are available in the lobby at all hours (thank you). We had a clean and lovely room.

After a long electric car ride from North Brabant of 3 hours, we arrived in Groningen. De Doelen is a nice hotel in the center of Groningen. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Our suite was spacious and had a beautiful bath and sauna. A nice bed and a nice set of armchairs complimented the whole. The breakfast is extensive and the room with the fireplace is cozy. The hitel does look a bit older here and there, but this is not disturbing. We enjoyed our 2 night stay. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this. We were at the back and were not inconvenienced at all by the nightlife crowd. In short, highly recommended in Groningen. The place is ideal for a nice weekend! 😀

Wij hebben hier heerlijk geslapen! Je zou denken misschien herrrie in de binnenstad maar was heel stil! Personeel was supervriendelijk! Enige minpuntje: het kon wat schoner ( veel stof op deuren en wc houder, haartjes aan binnenkant toiletpot) En geen handdouche bij de regendouche maar verder prima!

Wir wurden äußerst nett empfangen. Das Hotel befindet sich am Grote Markt, zentral gelegen. Das Zimmer war stilvoll eingerichtet. Bequeme große Betten. Das Bad war sehr groß und mit Dusche und Wanne ausgestattet. Ein großer Fernseher mit deutschen Programmen war ebenfalls vorhanden. Das Frühstücksbüffet war sehr gut und für ein Hotel mit 15,50 sehr preiswert!!! Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und können dies Hotel zu 100% weiterempfehlen!

Sfeervol hotel in het centrum. De kamers zijn prima ook al zijn ze deels wat gedateerd. De goedkopere kamers zijn aan de kleine kant en hebben mogelijk niet overal loopruimte door het schuine dak. De badkamer is prima. Lange mensen kunnen beter twee enkele bedden nemen. De tweepersoonsbedden zijn aan de korte kant. Er is een 24 uur receptie.

Sfeervol hotel met een gevoel van Engelse allure. Super gastvrij ontvangst met een persoonlijk welkomst kaartje. Ontbijt was meer dan goed. Op sommige plekken is misschien wat onderhoud nodig, maar dat gaat dan ten kostte van de authentieke stijl en dat is zonde.
