Onar Patmos

An excellent accommodation choice in a very tranquil part of Groikos, on the Petra side, right in front of a number of small, private beaches to the right of the property and the organized Petra beach to the left. Waters are as clean as one would expect in the Aegean sea and clear and transparent. The property comprises of a small number (5-6) of very comfortable apartments that have everything you need to make your stay memorable in a nice way. Most can sleep 4 people in 2 bedrooms, one can sleep a couple. They are all good. You should plan on getting provisions for your breakfast - there is a small kitchenette in every apartment. You should also plan on your coffee if you are particular about it like me. Otherwise there's a machine in the rooms and a coffee bar by the pool. Yes, there is a large sea water pool although with the beautiful beaches only steps away, I did not use it. I would recommend an upgrade on the a/c room installation to the newest generation equipment but that would be my only improvement suggestion. Overall an excelllent place for those who seek peace quiet and tranquility.

We have been in Greece now for 3 weeks and the Onar Patmos and the island of Patmos itself have been our favorite stay so far. The stress just melts away as soon as you step onto the property. It has an amazing beach, view and salt water swimming pool. It’s perfect. You are only a short walk to a couple of excellent restaurants. The management and staff are also just outstanding. They greeted us upon our arrival and took good care of us during our stay! Thank you! My advice is to rent a car if you stay here, so you can see the beautiful island of Patmos and have flexibility for meals.

We had a wonderful stay in Onar this summer. The house was very private, extremely nicely decorated and clean. The location and the large pool are both exceptional and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We would love to come back!

Onar is a wonderful boutique complex of very private apartments in one of the best spots in Patmos. The location is secluded but not hard to reach. The apartments are impeccably decorated and efficiently cleaned daily by Elena (nicest lady who also took care of our laundry). The pool is wonderful and nicely kept and the small beach across the street extremely convenient and lovely. While there were other guests in other houses during our stay, we almost always felt like we had the whole place for ourselves. The views of the Mediterranean, smells and sounds are a true feast for the senses. We traveled with our 3 year old and my elder parents and everybody was very comfortable and at ease. Wifi works great, the kitchens are well equipped and the overall feeling is that of staying at rustic yet elegant houses. Management was very responsive and extremely accommodating as we had to move our dates last minute and even offered us a credit to apply to extra days toward the end of our stay. I really cannot say enough good things of Onar, it is a special place on a special island and would love to go back one day if we are ever back in Patmos.

The location on Patmos is incredible, the service is incomparable. The salt water pool is also superlative. I really don't want to gush about the place, but there's a reason families come back for decades. We've never slept as well or felt as rested as we did visiting Onar Patmos.
