Harbor Knoll Bed & Breakfast

We felt so lucky to have found this gem for our four day stay in the North Fork. Perfect location, a two minute walk to the restaurants and shops in Greenport, yet tranquil and away from the busyness of the town. The place captures all the charm of the historic beach houses in the area. A pool and beach add to the vacation feel, guests swimming from the pier and lounging at the beach. An added and unexpected plus for us were discussions at breakfast and over a glass of wine with our delightful host with stories from interesting places all over the world where she has lived over the years. We look forward to returning in summers to come.

Gracious and approachable hostess made our stay at this charming Inn memorable. The Beach View room was charming, comfortable and had amazing views of the bay. Creative breakfasts started our day. Location could not be better. We walked to the town of Greenport daily, spent the afternoon by the heated pool and lounged on the private beach. Harbor Knoll really has it all. We will definitely come again.

Our experience at Bread & Breakfast was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. Here’s a detailed account of our stay: Reservation Issues: Initially, it was impossible to make a reservation online, so I called and booked over the phone. I reserved from Thursday to Sunday, but a few days before our trip, I called to confirm and found out they had our reservation from Saturday to Tuesday. They refused to refund our money, so we decided to go on Saturday. Unwelcoming Arrival We arrived around 5 PM, and the owner's son gave us a tour of the cottage and grounds. He informed us that the pool was only available for guests from 10 AM to 3 PM, and after that, it was reserved for the owner's use. This was shocking and unacceptable, especially considering we were paying $750 a day. Poor Accommodation Conditions: The cottage was dirty, with two malfunctioning air conditioners and a broken washing machine. There was no cleaning service, and the "gourmet breakfast" was a joke. The first day, we were served a boiled egg without butter, bread, and French toast. The second day, we got scrambled eggs and blitz, and we had to bring our own bread. The pool was filthy, and the whole property seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Early Departure: We ended up leaving at night before our check-out date because it was impossible to stay there any longer. Final Verdict Do not waste your money on this place. A three-star hotel in town was much cleaner, and their pool was available for use after 7 PM. I highly recommend avoiding Bread & Breakfast – run, don't walk, away from this place.

The Inn at Harbor Knoll is a very special B&B. It is within walking distance to Greenport, the LIRR and the ferry to Shelter Island. The host and her assistant are very warm and welcoming. They provide a delicious breakfast in a lovely room overlooking the bay. The room I stayed in was cozy and meticulously clean with touches such as robes, fluffy pillows and books. I was provided with beach towels, a spectacular view and chocolates at the entrance.

This was our first experience staying at a Bed and Breakfast. The inn was lovely and there was no need to leave the place: serene, beautiful surroundings with gorgeous flowers and plants, very comfortable and complete cottage, excellent breakfasts and afternoon drinks and appetizers, and more importantly a very gracious, hospitable and kind owner who entertained us with her travels and the history of the inn. The staff was also wonderful to us and helpful in any way they can. The property is immaculate and conducive to relaxing, reading, and enjoing the vistas. We stayed at the cottage which was clean, comfortable, cool, and tastefully decorated. All within walking distance of the town, the ferries, and the LIRR. We will definitely come back and rejuvenate at this amazing inn.

The beautiful photos and description of this place looked great, but they didn't begin to cover the beauty and attention to detail I found during my stay in Greenport. I loved it! The gardens are beautiful, the house is both lovely and comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious and the beach is charming. I got good advice about what to do and where to eat. Truly a lovely visit. I'll be back.

The inn is fabulous with breathtaking views of the harbor and boats and the host was gracious and accommodating. The host served a wonderful breakfast and was very friendly. The house is beautiful and the room was charming and clean. The patio and lawn with lounge chairs overlooking the harbor made it even more special. It was a wonderful experience!

Harbor Knoll is wonderful. The location is ideal. We park the car and forget about it. I love walking the few blocks into town for shopping and dinner. Breakfast at the Inn is always delicious. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The Inn owner is a very charming and interesting woman. She is always one of the highlights of our visit. We stay at Harbor Knoll 2 to 3 times every summer.

My husband and I recently stayed at Harbor Knoll for 2 nights. The entire compound is beyond charming. We arrived on a glorious afternoon, and we sat on the beach and drank a few White Claws, as we watched the ferries go by to Shelter Island. Did I mention its own private beach steps from the inn. Just beautiful! The grounds and house are just beautiful, especially if you like history. It has an amazing screened in porch and a beautiful breakfast room and library. The innkeeper, Luene, is charming and interesting as well. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the house, and we enjoyed our many chats with her. Harbor Knoll is the best of the North Fork! It does not get better than this! Book directly with the inn, and not on other websites to get best rate. Can’t wait to return.
