An experience like no other. Definitely worth every cent!! We should have stayed for longer. Loads of activities to do. The rooms were lovely. Staff were so friendly and the beach and snorkeling was insane.

Very Pleasant boat ride across and the walk around the island although short was very relaxing. Would love to go back and stay a while.

Mixed feelings about this place. There is a special vibe of being on a tiny island with a rainforest on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef but it's quickly replaced by the impression that it is severely mismanaged. The entire shoreline of the island is littered with plastic debris, mostly washed up. No one is cleaning it. As an "eco resort" this is a huge red flag. Another red flag is the excessively cold air-con than runs 24/7, even in empty rooms. This apparently stops mold growing - there must be better ways to prevent mold. Leaf blowers start at 6am - not what you want to hear on a remote island holiday. The food is awful and extremely expensive, and with only one restaurant option at night, you have little to choose from. Nothing is fresh. All food is frozen. Each fortnight they get one food delivery on a barge which is frozen to last 2 weeks - meaning they run low on supplies. 3 to 4 boatloads of tourists arrive each day - fresh food could be delivered to the island on these boats but it's not. Instead, it's an oversupply of pushy and rude tourists. Another red flag is the animal cruelty aspect - dark pools in the middle of the island house crocodiles that have been there since the 70's. It's very sad and I'm sure animal lovers would be appalled. The rooms are nice but you can hear your neighbours conversations and mobile phones very clearly. The staff seem a bit miserable - lots of them are just fulfilling their visa requirements and it shows. Quicksilver Group own the boats, the island and the reef tours. The island and reef seem heavily exploited and run-down. They needs to scale back the number of visitors and elevate the island experience to match the exorbitant prices.

Arrived on island before lunch had an awesome cup of coffee and a leisurely stroll around the island. The facilities there were absolutely fantastic. We will return for a couple of nights on the island. I’m sure the sunset over the island would be to die for. Although we only spent a couple of hours on the island it was relaxing and most enjoyable. The boat ride to and from the island only 3/4 of an hour away each way was really enjoyable.

Backpacking staff are the on plus here. The 'resort' rooms are tired, dark and dank. and overpriced. For over $400 per night breakfast was not included. 3 star at best. Suite, room/surrounds (including restaurants) were wheel chair accessible. Swimming pools, beach not accessible for anyone with mobility issues. Overpriced as a way of regaining lost COVID revenue. Island is smelly and dirty. Food horrendously expensive. Joined another couple and escaped early back to the mainland.

Tourists everywhere but it is Dec. was not enough food facilities or tables and seats. Couldn’t swim with out a stinger suit and was so hot but again it was December in Cairns. Was good to experience but would not go again

This resort is very very run down. Nothing is cleaned. Food is poor. The pool was literally green with occupants sharing it with bathing ducks….. while it may have been a 4 star experience at some point it is no longer that. For $900+ AUD a night things should be a lot better.

I found the customer service to be really terrible, it seems they are more interested in creating problems than providing solutions. There website stated the twin room accommodates 4 people, which I booked for ourselves and another couple. I was told that due to their policy they could only have 2 adults and 2 children up to the age of 14 or 3 adults. This is ridiculous given the price of nearly $900 per night and after reading the reviews about how run down the resort is and terrible their experience was based on terrible customer service, expensive tasteless food and feeling they didn't get their money's worth, we decided to pull the plug on the whole thing.

Really run down room. Broken blinds couldn’t keep sun out. What you guys are charging a night needs a major revamp for that price. The island needs some TLC. Should of stayed at Fitzroy island.
