The breakfast is fantastic, something fresh and different every day. The room and grounds are wonderful. Our host, Charles, knows everything about the area and has been a huge help. We feel very lucky we chose La Terraza! We plan on coming back as soon as we can!

We stayed for 2 nights after flying into San Jose, were met at the airport as promised and then greeted by Charles on arrival at the property. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast delicious and the surrounding gardens were beautiful with the river lulling us to sleep. Most importantly, we were so well looked after. My husband and I would like to thank Charles, Paola and Bryan for such a warm welcome to Costa Rica.

Somehow squeezed in a a neighborhood area, but vewry nicely arranged. We hadt he big "El Rio" suite which was very well equipped, incl. kitchenette as well as balcony where you can drink your evening beer or glass of wine. There is a little park around the river, very nice indeed. The service is very friendly and the breakfast tastes very well.

I can’t express enough how special my stay was at La Terraza Guest House B&B. From a lodging standpoint it was spectacular. The grounds were gorgeous the room was spacious and comfortable with the added touch of a stunning view from a lovely balcony. But what truly staod out the most for me was the above and beyond guest services. From the welcoming kitchen staff who prepared attractive and delicious meals with a smile, to the management, who has blown away any other experience I’ve had in customer service. Charles operates as a concierge and a “matchmaker.” In my case, that meant making anything happen for desired plans and activities as well as arranging for me to meet with new friends in preparation for relocating to the area. I am so grateful to Charles for putting me in safe hands with drivers he has known for years. Not only did they get me to my destination but all of them have become friends. This isn’t a typical B&B. Prepare to feel like family.

My husband and three other couples stayed at La Terraza for a couple of nights, we were on the last leg of our vacation. The experience was very delightful. My husband and I had the honeymoon suite. We checked in and were greeted with delicious banana bread muffins as a welcome gift. The rooms were neat and clean. Charles, the owner was wonderful, and aimed to please when it came to breakfast. We plan on returning to La Terraza on our next trip to Costa Rica.

If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and hospitable b&b along with a great host and staff, look no further. My husband & I, along with 3 other couples have just returned from Grecia, Costa Rica, we stayed at La Terraza Guesthouse B&B. Our host Charles Owens welcomed us as if we were long time friends. Breakfast was nice with enough variety to satisfy our entire group. The staff was pleasant and always accommodating to ensure we had all we needed while visiting. Thank you Charles & your staff for such a nice experience. We’ll definitely stay with you again.

I really hate to give bad reviews, but I feel compelled to let people know what we encountered. The grounds were every bit as lovely as described and the breakfast was very nice. There was safe parking inside the gate (although limited). All was wonderful...except our room. DO NOT BOOK EL NIDO. All of the rooms are close to the river, except El Nido. This room is above the office next to the street. You climb a steep set of wire stairs and open a wire cage to enter the room. It was EXTREMELY noisy until around 2:30am and then again beginning around 5:00am. We had almost no sleep. From loud motorcycles, people screaming profanities, barking dogs, car alarms, and truck it was a barrage of unavoidable disturbance. When large trucks passed by, the bed vibrated - this is NOT an exaggeration. This room should be turned into a hostel room or half the price with a disclaimer or discontinued altogether. I'm so disappointed as, if we had stayed in one of the other rooms, I think we would have had a wonderful experience. I brought this up to the manager (the owner was not present) and she was completely unapologetic. Buyer beware.

Spacious, well maintained, super friendly staff, balcony with a gorgeous view, and an amazing breakfast! We would definitely stay there again! The kids didn't want to leave the hotel. Definitely explore the grounds over the bridge, if the gate is unlocked. Beautiful. The only feedback for improvement I have for the owner is that the toilet seat should be replaced (or maybe just tightened?) As it shifts around a lot when sitting on it. But even with that, 5 stars for sure.

La Terraza Guest House is a lovely peaceful and beautiful boutique B&B. The rooms are clean, large and comfortable with a built in relaxing sound machine having the river flowing thru the back property. We had a fully stocked kitchenette in our casita including a mininfrige cooktop and microwave. The grounds are breathtaking, lush and filled with exotic flowers and a variety of areas created to sit and relax, read a book, enjoy the sounds of nature and just meditate or relax. Charles was delightful, taking time to greet you every morning and talk about the area or activities. The staff is gracious and will go out of their way to make sure you are happy. One morning I asked if they had tortillas instead of bread to eat with my eggs and they were getting ready to send someone to the store to get some. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh, tasty and made to your liking. The serenity of this space is unsurpassed. Truly enjoyed and will return whenever I come to Grecia again.
