It's very convenient to book this hotel in Vancouver. It's next to the University Center. Next to this hotel is Leap Canada attractions. It's really good to stay in this hotel for the second time

The position is wonderful. You can easily get the access to Canada line and go anywhere; last but not least, the airport is just nearby. The service is also great. Nice hotel to give a try.

This was perfectly adequate for my one night stay prior to a cruise. The location is easily accessible from the train from the airport and less than a mile from the cruise terminal. It is no frills but clean. I had a shared bathroom which was a concern but it was fine. You share the bathroom with another room and you will hear them in there but, again, it was one night. There was a sink in the room which was good as you didn't need the bathroom for basic teeth brushing, etc. If I was doing an overnight in Vancouver again, I'd go back.

Although all the rooms face the outdoors, the place is safe, and parking plentiful. Beds were especially comfortable, and restaurant next door serves really good food!

You could tell immediately how the hotel has been fairly new! Our family stayed for 2 nights and it was quite comfy. Not sure if there was anything we disliked. Just a couple of points: Restaurant option: Match Eatery & Public house And The Buffet We had a high expectation of the Buffet. Ah… so shame… Not worth paying so much. Trust me. Avoid the place. Internet: Connection is very strong; however, keep in mind that it is UNSECURED public connection. There was someone trying to access my personal email. Very fortunately, I had my email account secured with two way authentication. Do consider… to protect yourself by setting up the 2 way authentication… etc. Lastly, Swimming pool wasn’t ready to be opened until April.

My husband and I stayed one night at the Burnaby location in order to attend a dinner function nearby. We checked into our room and the heater was already on and set at 68 and seemed to be working OK. Shortly after we arrived in the room, a maintenance person knocked on the door to see how the heater was working. That should have clued us in as to what would happen next. A bit later, the unit started to spit out cooler air. I might add that the unit never cycled off and on as it should. I turned the unit up to around 72 to see if that would make a difference but no it did not. We contacted the front desk and within 5 minutes, maintenance came to check. We were told that the heater had to remain at 68, no higher or it wouldn’t work. I have never heard of such a thing. High temperature in Vancouver was mid 40's dipping into the 30's at night. By this time, it was 5:30 and we had to head out the door for the dinner event at 6PM. I wish we would have demanded a different room, because when we returned it was definitely cooler in the room. We were both tired and needed to leave the hotel early in the morning so we decided to “gut it out”. I looked for additional blankets and there were none. I wound up sleeping a total of 2 hours in my coat. This was not a comfortable experience.  I am generously giving this property 2 stars as the room itself was clean and the bedding was comfortable. The front desk clerk kindly gave us a 50% discount for our discomfort which was the best she could do, but when I contacted their HQ was offered a 50% discount off a future stay. Don't think I will take them up on that offer, but thanks anyway.

I stayed here for two nights recently for my trip to Vancouver. This was a last-minute booking and my first time here. I chose this hotel over the other I had previously stayed in just for the location. The location is a roughly 5-10min walk to Granville street Skytrain. The location also offers a lot of restaurants nearby and 7-11 and McDonald's which are 24hr if you are hungry in the middle of the night. When I arrived it was just at 11 am and they had my room ready and let me check in early which was nice. The room itself was really small but okay just for one person. The only things I didn't like were the pillows heart my neck being so big and the small shower with a rain head, very inconvenient when you don't want to get your hair wet.....right ladies!!! For sleep quality it was okay, my room faced the Staples right on Seymour it was quite a noisy street to be on so just beware. To note I had only booked for the night but ended up having to stay another the hotel offered me a better rate than what I had originally booked on Expedia for roughly $10 or something less and then also offered me a late check-out.

Hotel is located across a Chinese Mall with lots of eating options. The room comes with a simple cooking facility and utensils where you can bake a simple meal. Breakfast comes with basic items like pastries, yogurt, cereals, fruit, juice, coffee. There are 3 hot breakfast items got rotated daily which got bored easily.

Thank you for the opportunity to describe my Inn at the Quay experience. I was booked for a day procedure at Royal Columbian Hospital at 6:00AM on Saturday May 20. Because I was travelling from out of town and had to be driven home (as a requirement of the procedure) I elected to travel by train to Vancouver and then New Westminster on the day before, Friday. On Tuesday May 16 I booked a room at your hotel for the night of the night of Friday May 19 for $389.00 ex-taxes. My plan was to take a cab to the Hospital and then my daughter was then going to drive to town to pick me up and drive me home after the procedure on Saturday. After travelling to New Westminster I had time to kill because I called the Inn at the Quay to see if I could get an early check in but was told that you were very busy and that was not possible. The hospital recommends attending with only your care card for security reasons. For this reason I had my BC Care Card and the credit card I used to book the room in my cellular phone case. During my wanders I lost my phone. Fortunately I had a significant amount of cash so I got a cab immediately and attended at your hotel. I explained my situation to the clerk on the desk and she said that she could not check me in without the credit card I used to book the room. I asked her if you would charge that card with the room price if I had not shown up and she agreed that that was the case. When I asked if she could just charge the card and let me stay she said that the situation was different and was against your policy. I questioned her further and she summoned a person form the back office who agreed that the situation was completely different and actually said “Sorry, we can’t help you.” When I suggested cancelling the credit card transaction and paying in cash that suggestion was also turned down. Reason was lost on these two minions that are trained to be slavishly obedient to your rules and policies. I am sure that if you question these two they will agree that I was polite and courteous throughout our encounter. After several attempts at circumventing their indifference I felt that I should leave before I started to get mad. As a competent, attentive and businesslike hotelier I am sure you are aware of the saturation in your market on any given day. If you harken back to May 19 you will recall that all of the other hotels in New Westminster and as far as Port Coquitlam were completely booked. No matter, I was able to avail myself of a comfortable chair in the admitting lobby of the Royal Columbian Hospital from 4:00PM on Friday until 6:00AM the following morning. Except of course when I had to leave the admitting lobby while the janitors polished the floors. Because the Emergency Room lobby was full I was able to meet some of the interesting local street residents that were outside at 2:30AM. Paradox Hotel is one of the best hotels we have stayed at in a long time. We typically stay at Four Seasons, Fairmont’s, and other hotels similar to these types of hotels. Paradox had first class service starting at the valet (Marty), along with all individuals at the front counter. To top off our stay, we had Andrew from concierges that took great care of us, as he went above and beyond for my wife’s 40th birthday celebration. -I will be writing a person letter to Andrew, for all the amazing things he did to make our stay so memorable. It’s hard to put into words the results of our trip, as all of it was amazing, from the lounge (Megan/Morgan/Vanessa were all fantastic and were extremely friendly. To the Mansion nightclub, where everyone was fantastic and provided amazing service, as we decided to get table service for the birthday celebration. If anyone is contemplating staying at the Paradox, do not think twice about booking, you will not regret it. Also, amazing walking distance to so many amazing shops and restaurants. All-in-all, we will be back to see all the amazing people we met and we look forward to our next trip to the Paradox Hotel.
