May be one of my new favorite hotels in the world! The service and the accommodations at this reserve were some of the nicest we have ever experienced. My three kids loved the kids club and were thrilled to go on some kid only adventures, chill out and watch a movie, and play pool! This allowed my husband and I to thoroughly enjoy the dinners and wine pairings. The wait staff and sommelier were fantastic. We celebrated our anniversary durning this trip and the staff and Grootbos went above and beyond our expectation. I definitely recommend this reserve and hope to return in the future!

Beautiful countryside but for the cost of the tour , we would not repeat it. There was very little fynbos in flower in April. Might be an idea not to do tours if there is not much to see. A fair amount of time was spent at the florigium which we would have rather done on our own. The lunch was by far the highlight, beautifully set in an old house- using fynbos ingredients and absolutely delicious. We felt that this restaurant should form part of the painting display area- thus allowing one to spend much more time there.

Grootbos was absolutely wonderful and the view of the coastline is better than the pictures! We stayed at the Forest Lodge for 3 nights and we did a beach picnic (highly recommended), cave exploration, flower/fynbos safari, and horseback riding. We even got lucky enough to enjoy a special boma dinner in the forest. Grootbos is an easy 2 hour drive from Cape Town and worth every penny! Our guide, Ruaan, and server, Candice, took excellent care of us. Many thanks to all of the staff for a memorable and enjoyable stay for our family.

We stayed in Grootbos as part of our honeymoon trip and I have to say it could be the best hotel we have ever visited, anywhere in the world. The suites, the food, the facilities and the staff are all absolutely exemplary - and needless to say the view and area is divine! The staff were incredibly attentive and even organised a surprise dinner for us one evening in their private wine cellar, which was an amazing experience - they really do go the extra mile for you here and will make your stay so memorable and special. We have been fortunate to travel around the world a lot and Grootbos would be our number one choice to return to. Special mentions to our wonderful guide Lino, and to Bianca and Princess who made our stay even more amazing. Thank you!

Me and my family stayed at Forest Lodge Suite in Grootbos Private Nature Reserve,Gansbaai, South Africa I enjoy staying at Grootbos . The place is amazing, the food is awesome, the nature around the place is fantastic. One of my favorite food is venison burger, so juicy and yummy! When we first arrived, we assited by one appointed staff who greet us personally and also as our guide who showed us the room and also arranged our activities at Grootbos. There are lot of activities there: horse riding, flora safari (botanical 4x4 tour), whale watching, beach & cave walk and other attarctions. It's so magical to stay there. I enjoyed the flora safari. It's a great experience to see lot of beautiful flowers and birds. South Africa, a paradise on Earth with its diverse landscapes, vibrant culture, and incredible wildlife, has left an indelible mark on our hearts. Hope to be back there again soon!

Want to be treated like a king and queen - this is your place. Not a far drive off from the highway. From the minute you step in- you are spoilt. Drinks are on the house. The food delicious. Not fully halal but more than enough options to choose from. The activities are well arranged with your personal guide. The rooms are super- we stayed in the Forest Lodge side. Horse riding was special. We bought quite a few plants from their nursery. You are never rushed for any meal. I would return in a heartbeat.

Grootbos Florilegium Half Day Tour - Celebrating the treasures of our botanical heritage was a wonderful experience. Heidi was very passionate about the beautiful flora and pollinators that make Grootbos a hidden treasure. The gallery collection was an impressive and the investment in education also commendable. The local taxi provided us with transport from Pure Sea Eco Lodge. Alternatively they also have accommodation available. We enjoyed a tasty lunch and tea tasting as part of our tour.
