Cheeky Monday off work & looking for somewhere to eat in the Cotswolds, found here and couldn’t be happier. Warm friendly welcome from the girl behind the bar, who sorted out drinks & menus quickly followed quickly by the chap who took our food order. Decided on pub classics, sausages & mash with other half having steak pie & marsh, neither disappointed as they were really tasty. Loved the atmosphere & authentic old pub, along with great staff & food, what’s not to love?

The most beautiful village pub with the friendliest of staff!! We stayed with friends over Valentines weekend and couldn’t fault anything. The rooms were spotless, the welcome was fabulous, the log fire was welcoming and the food was delicious. The chocolate box village is so quaint with lovely walks from the doorstep. On arrival to our room, we noticed a mini box of chocolates and a post card on the dressing table as it was Valentine’s Day. Lovely touch. The food was plentiful and breakfast particularly was delicious and well presented. Finally, the staff were the friendliest people. Very hard working yet offered time to chat and have banter with us. Cannot fault the stay. See you hopefully in a few months!

What a beautiful pub in a stunning village! Our room was small but perfect for the two of us with a window seat overlooking the beer gardens and beautiful views! We were also left a card and a small box of chocolates as we stayed valentines weekend which was a lovely touch! The staff were all fantastic and so friendly and polite and would stop and chat. The pub inside is beautiful with flagstone floors and a big open fire which we were lucky to get seated by on valentines night. Food was wonderful along with the selection of beers. The village is just stunning with lovely walks and a beautiful church. Do not hesitate to stay here, we loved every minute of it and will be back!

Great atmosphere. Typical English rural pub. The food was great, not fine dining but tasty. The beef can be overcooked sometimes. The portions are huge and enough to feed a hungry man. The menu is good enough to cover all areas. I can't comment on the drinks as we didn't had any.

The quintessential country pub - it is difficult to find a better - and we are lucky to have it on our doorstep. Classic Cotswold building inside and out; and especially in winter the pub is like a warm hug with its log fire, low ceiling, pew seating and welcoming staff. The food is reassuringly hearty fare - a good selection of dishes (meat, fish and veggie) that reflect the season; we have recently eaten a Christmas menu and a Burns menu (including an excellent cullen skink). This is a welcome relief from the more 'fancy' gastro pub dishes in other nearby pubs.

Our recent stay at the falkland arms was great, staff were very good, food and drink spot on and rooms were very comfortable and with all the amenities one needs. The pub is in a superb little village called Great Tew, which is postcard Cotswolds, would highly recommend
