We’ve stayed at this hotel at least 8 times in the last 5 years. We stay every time we come up to visit family in Bowburn. It’s about 15 mins drive out from family but worth the drive as we know we will get excellent value and always enjoy our stay. The staff here are brilliant. So friendly and welcoming and can’t do enough for you. They are also really good with kids. Our stay this week, April 25th has been just the same. We were greeting by a really friendly lady on reception who checked us in and said there would be some treats for the kids in the room. When we entered the room we found two drinks and two big chocolate bars, along with biscuits and an egg hunt game. Such a nice touch! The kids did the egg hunt and took the eggs to reception where they both received an Easter egg. The kids loved this and it was very thoughtful of the staff at the hotel to do this. Honestly we love coming here and it will always be our go to hotel whenever we travel up here from Manchester.

The best premier inn we have ever stayed in hands down without shadow of a doubt. For a start, we walked into the room and there was an A4 piece of paper on the side informing us THREE eggs had been hidden in the room for us to find. Cue the excitement and frenzy as we all (including 30 year old me and 60 year old granny) raced round the room to find the eggs. Granny made the rookie mistake of going for the bathroom but let’s be honest who’s hiding eggs in the toilet lass. Meanwhile in the bedroom, the frenzy continued resulting in one 12 year old being shoved out of the way and two milk cartons being thrown into the abyss to retrieve the final egg in what can only be described as an act of pure excellence. We then went to the reception to redeem the mystery prize and the 30 year old claimed the children’s Easter egg #winnerwinnerchickendinner The staff were awesome, super friendly and accommodating. We are already planning our next trip here, perfect location to explore Durham and to use as a pit stop for beamish. 10/10 guys!

Very disappointed,we use premier inns regularly and rarely have any issues until now. This place is a building site, I can't believe they are open for business. the reception and ground floor are a construction site, the whole hotel has the smell of adhesive and other associated noxious aromas, the room itself was up to the expected high standard but the water pressure in the shower was non existent and the air conditioning sounded like someone had dropped a spanner in there. Overall a very disappointing stay and to top it all the breakfast in the adjacent restaurant was terrible.

The hotel is going through some refurbishment works and as a result, the family room we had was brand new. The woman on reception gave us a lovely warm welcome and had called me a couple of days earlier just to confirm our booking. There is a nice pub / restaurant next to the hotel where we went for dinner and breakfast... This was really handy and great value for money. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel has only *just* been refurbished, and the people doing that have done an excellent job. Hopefully by the time you get to stay there they will have sorted out the abysmal water pressure. Traveller's tip: try and get a ground floor room as you are further away from the noisy plumbing in the attic, and you may get a smidge more water pressure (but probably not by much). Wi-Fi, by the way, is barely usable with a macimum of a 1 Mb connection on the free version.

Booked last minute to save going into Durham Centre on a journey South from Scotland. I use Premier Inn regularly and can normally depend on the brand. The room was clean and comfortable as expected , but the location not great and the adjacent food outlet ( not part of Premier Inn) very shabby, although it did have a good selection of food and a 5 star hygiene rating. The receptionist appeared bored and therefore the welcome was not great. Despite the renovation work finishing at 4.30. I suspect the contractors were staying onsite as there were heavy footsteps overhead most of the evening. I did however get a good nights sleep and went on with my travels south.

What a lovely premier inn. Surrounded by open countryside. On arrival the receptionist called John was very pleasant and efficient. Large car park so no problem parking (free). A clean well kept premier inn. And as always a super comfy bed. Our room was quiet.I will book again when visiting family in Middlesbrough and would recommend highly simply due to great staff and the position of the premier inn. The cleaning staff obviously do a great job as the room was spotless.

Great spacious family room and very friendly staff. Great price and breakfast but more than this was the staff going above and beyond for the kids. Little free treats and an Easter egg hunt set up in our room before our arrival was above, beyond and the kids were well happy with their prizes! Never had a stay like it just from a simple little extra for the kids. Excellent A+ Service and will certainly stay here again when travelling north. Thanks. We have been to this particular Premier inn multiple times due to the proximity to family and it never fails to impress us all as a family. We are always welcomed so warmly and nothing is ever too much. Each time we visit we always find they have done something special for when we arrive to our room, this could be as simple as a bag of sweets for our children all the way to an Easter egg hunt that’s been set up in our room. We will always book to stay here when we visit. Thanks to all the staff for your kindness and excellent service!
